Proclamation Adjourning the Parliament
The Proclamation underwrittin for Adjourning the Parliament, Being prepared was Read voted approven and Signed, and ordered to be Recorded. Wherof The Tenor follows.
William By the Grace of God, King of great Brittain France and Ireland Defender of the faith, To our Lyon King at armes and his Bretheren heraulds, macers of our privy Councill Pursevants, Messengers at armes, our Sheriffs in that pairt Conjunctly and Severally specialy Constitute Greeting. Forasmuchas We by our Proclamation of the date the Seventeenth day of June last by past, have Adjourned this our Current Parliament of this our ancient Kingdom of Scotland To the fourth day of July nou Instant, then next to Come, And whereas severall things have occurred since that tyme, which makes it necessary That our said Parliament be farder Adjourned, Therfore and that the members of our said Parliament may not be put to unnecessary Charges and attendance, we with advice of the Lords of our privy Councill, have Adjourned and heirby adjournes this our said Current Parliament from the said fourth day of July Instant to the Thirteenth day of August next to Come, And doe heirby order and Require all the members of our Said Parliament To attend att Edinburgh The Said Thirteenth day of August next to Come in the usual way and under the Certificationes Contained in the Severall acts of Parliament made thereanent. Our will is Heirfore And we Charge yow Strictly and Command That Incontinent these our Letters seen ye pass To the mercat Cross of Edinburgh, and to the mercat Crosses of the Remanent head-Burghs of the Severall Shyres and Stewartries within this Kingdom, and There in our name and authority by open proclamation make Intimation That our said Parliament is adjourned from the Said Fourth day of July To the said Thirteenth day August next to Come, And ordaines these presents to be printed Given under our Signet att Edinburgh The First day of July, And of our Reign the Twelfth year i700. Sic Subscribitur.
