Act Infavours off John Dunbabbine

Annent The petition given in and presented to the Lords off Her Majesties privie Councill By John Dunbabbine pinmaker Shewing That wher By seaverall Laws and Acts off parliament and particularly by the 12th Act of parliament King Charles the 2d Intituled Act For Incurraging Trade, and Manufactories His Majestie Did Ratefie and approve all Acts formerly made For incurragingent off the Manufactories off this Kingdome and Incurradgement off strangers to come therto and sett up their severall callings therin The petitioner Doeth humbly presume to represent to their Lordships That he haveing come From England to this Kingdome in order to set up and Follow a trade off pinmaking which will be very much For the advantadge off the Kingdome and all the inhabitants therof The petitioner hes these seaverall years past followed the said trade with good success, and to the satisfaction off all these with whom he have any dealling therin And the petitioner being now resolved to sett up a pin work in Abberdain or some other place off the Kingdome wher he can most conveniently For the service and accommodation off the Leidges The petitioner will be much incurradged in the prosecutione therof towards the making the manufactorie off the said work the more sufficient and proffitable For the service off the Kingdome That their Lordships would be pleased to grant unto the petitioner And declair he shall have right unto all the priviledges and Immunities allowed by the Laws and Acts off parliament off this Kingdome In favours of Manufactorie And Therfor Craveing to the effect aftermentioned as the said petition bears The Lords off Her Majesties privie Councill Haveing considered the above petition Given into them By John Dunbabbin pinmaker And the samen being read in their presence The saids Lords Doe heirby Declair The pin work to be sett up by the petitioner in Aberdain or some other place in the Kingdome wher the petitioner can most conveniently For the service and accommodation off the Leidges to be a Manufactorie, and allowes the petitioner the Full right and benefit off all the priviledges and Immunities compitent therby or belonging to Manufactories.

Annent The petition given in and presented to the Lords off Her Majesties privie Councill By The Magistrats and Toun Councill off the Burgh off Jedburgh Shewing That Sir Patrick Scott off Ankrum patron off the paroch off Hunum By his Gift off the date the Threeteen off march last Did with consent off the heretors off that paroch assign and Dispone a years vaccand Steipend off the said Kirk and paroch of Hunum For repairing the Manse of the said paroch and the stone Bridge at the said Kirk in the first place and the Remander off the said steipend to be applyed and imployed For deffraying the great chairges and expensses their said Toun of Jedburgh are Engadged in Rebuilding one earch and Two pillers off the Bridge at Ankrum over the watter of Teviot Which is knowen to be a most pious work and absolutly necessary to be retained in repair boeth For the common intrest off the Kingdome in their passadge to and from England and For the weekly mercats off the said burgh alse well as the commone trafique and travileing in the Country And which years vaccand steepend Is to be imployed for the usses and in manner abovementioned at the sight and by the advyse off the said Sir Patrick Scott And Therfor creaving to the effect affter mentioned as the said petition bears The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill Haveing considered the above petition Given into them By the Magistrats of Jedburgh and Toun Councill therof with ane Gift of ane years stipend off the Kirk and paroch off Hounam under the hand of Sir Patrick Scott of Ancrum patron of the paroch of Hounam And the samen being read in their presence The saids Lords Doe heirby Interpose their authority to the said Gift and disposition off the said years vaccant stepend off the Kirk and paroch off Hounam And ordaines Letters off Horning under the signet off Councill To be direct at the petitioners Instance Instance2 Againest the Heriters, Lyfrenters, woodsetters, possessors and others lyable in payment therof for payment making to the petitioners off ayears stipend off the said paroch out off which is resting oweing or intromitted with by them For the years 1701 and 1702, To be imployed by the petitioners For repairing the Manse and stone Bridge at Hounam Kirk in the first place And Deffraying the Chairges and expensses in building ane Arch and two pillars To the Bridge off Ancrum And repairing the rest off the said bridge over the watter of Teviot The petitioners allwayes befoir Extracting heirof Giveing bond and finding Sufficient Caution acted in the books off privie Councill To apply the years vacant stipend Forsaid to the ends abovementioned at the sight and by the advice off the said Sir Patrick Scott.
