Procedure

Recommendation to Livt Genall Ramsay anent Secureing of preists

The Lords of her Majesties privy Councill Recommends to Livetennent Generall George Ramsay Commander in Cheif of her Majesties forces within this kingdome to give orders and Command to the severall officers of her Majesties forces; That they and the Souldiers under their Command give Sufficient and ready assistance to the respective Magistrates and Judges as and when they Shall be requyred by them; To Seize upon take and apprehend the persones of any popish preists Trafiqueing papists Jesuits or popish Schoollmasters and for Committing them to the nixt Secure prison.

Recommendation to the Chancelor anent Jesuits and Preists etc

The Lords of her Majesties privy Councill haveing heard the report of a Committie of their oun number appointed to Consider the petition and grivances given in by the Generall assembly of the Church of Scotland to ther Lordships; The said Lords of her Majesties privy Councill Recommend to the said high Chancelor and such of the officers of state or Lords or others of the privy Councill as his Lordship shall think fitt to Call from time to time To Grant and direct Orders and warrands to the magistrats of burgh or Landward or to any of the officers of her Majesties forces To seize upon take and apprehend and Comitt to the nixt secure prisone the persones of the preists Jesuits or trafecking papists and popish Schoollmasters Contained and named on the said petition and Condesshendanc[e] given in by the said Generall Assembly; and any others against whom a signed information shall be given and that report be made to the Lords of privy Councill of the said Seizure and Commitment by vertue of any of the forsaid warrands

Warrant for printing the act of Councill anent Levieing of Seamen

The Lords of her Majesties privy Councill appoints their former act In favors of the two Captaines of the Englishmen of Warr Lying in the road of Leith for their Levieing and takeing on of Seamen to be printed and only so many Copies therof Cassen off as will give one to each burgh and Seaport toune mentioned in the principall Warrand, and appoints the Solicitor to dispatch the Samen to the respective burghs and Seaport Tounes; and that no Copies therof be keept over and above what will serve the said burghs and Sea-port Tounes But that they be instantly distroyed.
