Warrand for Seizing Captain Cleilland, Captain of the Englishmen of War etc

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Considering That the orders direct by them of yesterdayes date To Major Generall Ramsay for disbarking the two Regiments at present Shipped aboard the Englishmen of Warr in the Road of Leith; Have not received That ready and punctuall Obedience from Captain William Cleiland Commander of the saids Men of Warr and the other 2 Captaines and officers of the saids Ships Which they ought to have done Doe Therfore Give order and Warrand to the Magistrates of Edinburgh; Baillies of Leith and Macers of privy Councill presently to seize upon and to take into Custody The persones of the said Captain William Cleilland Commander of the saids Men of Warr and all other Captaines and officers belonging to the saids Shipps whom they can apprehend on Shoar and to keep and detaine them and every one of them In safe and sure Custody untill furder orders from the saids Lords of privy Councill or untill the saids two Regiments and every man of them be disbarked and put on shoar.

Order to the Burghs Royall and Regality

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Considering that upon the present exigence It is necessary for them to know what quantities of powder Match and other Amunition are in the hands of any merchants within the respective burghs of this kingdome and that the Samen be secured for the Service of the Government Doe Therfore Requyre and Command the Magistrats of the burgh of Edinburgh and the Magistrats of the haill other burghs Royall and Regalitie of this kingdome To Search and make tryall within the respective burghs what quantities of powder and other Amunition forsaid are in the hands of any merchant within ther burgh; And to make report therof to the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill with all expedition and in the mean time to secure the Samen in Such way and Maner as they think best for makeing the same furthcomeing for the service of the Government when called for upon payment for the same.

Recommendation to Earl of Leven and Lord Advocat to enquyre anent the store of Gunpowder etc

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Recommends to the Earle of Leven and Lord Advocat to make inquyry and take tryall what Store and quantities of Gunpowder is in the Storehouses at the powder Mylne or in the hands of and belonging to that Company and to report to the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill with their conveniency.
