Act Infavours off Mr Robert Forbes Advocat

Annent The petition given in and presented to the Lords off Her Majesties privie Councill By Mr Robert Forbes Advocat Shewing That wher Her Majestie Hes been graciously pleased By ane Gift of the date the Tuenty Nynth off January Last To nominat the petitioner one of the Clerks off Her Majesties privie Councill dureing Her Majesties pleasure Which Gift wants ane warrand For passing the great seall per saltum Which Their Lordships are in use to supply when wanting And Therfore Creaving to the effect after mentioned as the said petition bears The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill Haveing considered the above petition given into them By Mr Robert Forbes Advocat They heirby order the said Gift To pass the great seall per saltum And grants warrand to the director of her Majesties Chancellarie For wryting therof And to the keepers off the great seall and his Deputs for appending the same therto without passing any other Register or seall.

Recommendation to the Lord Advocat To Call for Archibald Hislope and enquyre at him why troubles people anent the polemoney

The Lords of her Majesties privy Councill Doe hereby Recommend to Sir James Stewart her Majesties advocat to Call for Archibald Hislope writer in Edinburgh as pretending a Commission from William Cochran of Fergyslie of the pole for ingathering of the polemoney Imposed by act of parliament and enquyre at him be vertue of what authoritie he now troubles the people anent the pole; And Ordaines the said Archibald Hyselope (if he have any Commission or instructiones from Ferguslie or any other theranent) To exhibit the samen before her Majesties advocat And in the mean time Sists all Execution upon Any dilligence at his instance against any person whatsomever anent the payment of the said polemoney; And ordaines him to produce the dilligences.

Letter from the Queen to the Councill for appointing the Generall Assembly of the Church of Scotland to meett at Edinburgh upon the Tenth day of March nixt to come Read and Ordered to be Recorded and the Councill appoints their Clerks to prepair a proclamation to morrow at twelue of the Cloak in the forenoon in the termes of the above Letter; Wherof the tenor followes.

Right trustie and Right well beloved Cousin and Councillor; Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trustie and well beloved Councillors; and trustie and well beloved Councillors; Wee greet yow well. Wee are informed That the late king our Royall brother of Glorious Memory did Call a Generall Assembly of the Church of Scotland to Edinburgh on the twenty sixth day of March Jaj viic and two, And did appoint the Earle of Marchmont his Chancelor to be his Commissioner in the same But That upon information of the Kings Sicknes and danger They ware hasted to a Conclusion; And that the Commissioner Did disolve them And indited a new assembly to meet the Tenth of March in this present year; And Since the affairs of the Church in that our ancient kingdome do so requyre It is our Royall pleasure That a Generall assembly of that nation Shall meett at Edinburgh upon the Said Tenth day of March; And that all the Constituent members therof be present at the time to meett with our Commissioner and proceed to act for the good of Religion; The peace of the Church and the wellfare of Our kingdome; And hereof yow are to give timely intimation in your accustumed maner that all concerned may have Notice of this our pleasure and so wee bid yow heartily farewell Given at our Court at St James’s the 5th day of February 1702/3 and of our Reigne the first year.
