Anent Leivtenent Cashets petitione

Petitione the freinds of the deceast Ensigne Skein craveing his majesties remissioen to Leivetenent Cashet for killing the said Ensigne may be Stopt Read And appoints Sir Gilbert Eliot ane of ther Lordships clerks to speake with the same Leivetenent Casset who is presentlie prisoner in the tollbwith of the Cannogate and to sie if he will give bond and inact himself in the books of privie Counsell that he shall depairt furth of this kingdome so soon as his remissione is past and never Returne within the Same and to take such a bond or inactment from the Leivetennent if he will grant the same And to report ane ansuer to the exchequer when they sitt the morrow in the afternoon

Anent Commissioners of militia of Edinburgh shires expenses

The Earle of Lauderdale represented that the Commissioners of the Militia for the shire of Edinburgh would be att Considerable expences in Meeting expeding Dispatches for Bringing out the present Militia which he proposed might be alloued out of the present Cess of the Shire To which the Councill gave noe ansuer The Militia having been out off before and this expence never heard of or Craved.

Proposalls Marjoribanks and Erskine Anent Victuall

Anent the proposalls given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill By John Marjoribanks merchand in Edinburgh and Mr William Areskine Bearing whereas the great Importation of victuall from England and other places has taken a Great deall of the species of money out of the Kingdome The above persons does humbly offer to Import ten or tuelve Thousand bolls into the Kingdome that shall not take any species of their money But only the naturall product of the nation And they ask only for their Incouragement tuenty shilling Scotts per boll of profite for the Risque and advance of their money as the said proposall Bears The saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councill having heard the above proposall Anent the Importing of Victuall read in their presence They heirby Recommend to the Lords Commissioners of his Majesties Thesaurie to Consider the same And to doe therein as they shall find Convenient and Just.

Anent the petition given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill By James Seatoun of Touch Sheuing That wher it is nottourly knouen that the petitioner ever since the Revolution Demeaned himself so equally, That he humbly Conceaves ther is no Just ground of suspicion of his disaffection Intending to Live a peacable quyte Countrey Life And seing the petitioner is Knouen to be valitudinary And that his present Imprisonment may furder Impare his health which he finds already by the change from the Countrey air fast approaching And therfore humblie Craving to the effect underwryten as the said petition bears The said Lords of his Majesties privie Councill having Considered this petition given in to them By James Seatoun of Touch They have Confyned And hereby Confyne the petitioner to the toune of Edinburgh and suburbs thereof And Gives order and warrand to the Magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of their tolbooth to sett the petitioner at Liberty furth thereof In respect the petitioner before extracting heirof hath Given bond and found sufficient Cautione Acted in the Bookes of privie Councill That he shall Keep his said Confynment and not goe without the Bounds of the same And that he shall Live peacably under and with all submission to the present government of his Majestie King William And that he shall not Act Consult nor Contrive any thing in prejudice therof nor Converse or Correspond with any rebelles And that he shall appear before the saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councill whensoever he shall be Called for or required to that effect under the penaltie of Tuo Thousand merks Scotts money In caise he shall transgress in any part of the premisses.
