Committy anent Disorders, at Nithsdale, and anent preists and Jesuits

Her Majesties Advocat Haveing Represented to the board That he had receaved seaverall Letters from the shyre of Nithsdale Importing That there were seaverall Turbulent people got togither in that shyre Who upon pretence of searching for preists and Jesuits Committ a great many Acts off oppression and violence upon the houses off seaverall Noblemen, and Gentlemen there The Lords off Her Majesties privie Councill, Doe heirby Nominat and appoint The Earle of Glasgow, Lord Theasaurer Deput, The Lords president off Session, Advocat, Justice Clerk, Phesdo, and Master Francis Montgomry As a Committee To Consider upon the most effectuall methods For suppressing off the saids Tumults and Rables, and for apprehending off preists and Jesuits And Recommends to the said Committee To meet at Tuelf a clock to morrow foirnoon and Declares any Three a quorum and to Report.

The Lord Justice Clerk Haveing presented to the board ane Letter From the Earle off Nottinghame Lord Secretary of England to the Earle of Cromerty annent powder to be furnished to this Kingdome from Berwick upon payment off Three pound ten shilling sterling per Barrell The Lords of Her Majesties privy Councill Remitts the Consideration off the said Letter To the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesties Theasaurie.

The Lord Advocat Haveing represented to the Councill That he hade receaved ane express from Court with lists of Ships Come from Holland to this Kingdome with the last Convoyes The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Recommend to the Lords Commissioners off Her Majesties Theasaurie To take such order and Course as they shall think most expedient For discovering and seazing what arme’s and ammunition is imported into this Kingdome by the shipps Contained in the saids Lists And to Inquyre annent what passengers Came home therin.
