Proclamatione for adjurning the parliament

William and Mary By the Grace of God King and Queen of Great Brittaine France and Ireland, defenders of the faith To our Lyon King at armes and his brethren Heraulds Macers of our privie Councell pursevants messengers at armes our shirreffs in that part Conjuctly and severallie specially Constitut Greeting For as much as we with advyce of the Lords of our privie Councell Did by our our proclamatione of the date the tuenty seventh day of Agust last Jaj vjc nyntie one years addjurne the Currant parliament of this our ancient kingdome of Scotland from the sixteenth day of September Last to the fourteenth day of Janwary Instant Jaj vjc nyntie tuo years And now In regaird that our affairs doe not requyre the meeting of our said parliament so soon as the said fourteenth day of Janwary Instant and that the members of parliament may not be putt to the trowble and charge of meeting upon the said day we therfore with advyce of the saids Lords of our privy Councell Herby adjurne our said Current parliament untill the fifteenth day of Apryle nixt to Come In this Instant year of God Jaj vjc nyntie tuo Hierby requyring all the members of our parliament to Give their attendance at Edinburgh on that day In the accustomed manner and under the Certificationes Contained in the severall Acts of parliament Our uill is Hierfore and uee Charge yow strictly and Command That Incontinent these our Letters seen ye pass to the Mercat Cross of Edinburgh and remanent mercat crosses of the head burghs of this our antient kingdome And ther In our name and authority by open proclamatione make Intimatione of the said adjurnment of our parliament of this kingdome from the said fourteenth day of Janwary Instant to the said fifteenth day of Apryle nixt therafter And ordaines these presents to be printed and published. Given under our signet at Edinburgh the fourth day of Janwary and of our regne the third year 1692 sic subscribitur ut sederunt

Proclamation for adjourning the parliament

William and Mary, by the grace of God King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland, defenders of the faith, to our Lyon King at arms and his brethren heralds, macers of our privy council, pursuivants, messengers at arms, our sheriffs in that part conjunctly and severally specially constituted, greetings. For as much as we with advice of the lords of our privy council did by our our proclamation of the date the twenty seventh day of August last 1691 adjourn the current parliament of this our ancient kingdom of Scotland from the sixteenth day of September last to the fourteenth day of January instant 1692, and now in regard that our affairs do not require the meeting of our said parliament so soon as the said fourteenth day of January instant, and that the members of parliament may not be put to the trouble and charge of meeting upon the said day, we therefore with advice of the said lords of our privy council, hereby adjourn our said current parliament until the fifteenth day of April next to come in this instant year of God 1692, hereby requiring all the members of our parliament to give their attendance at Edinburgh on that day in the accustomed manner, and under the certifications contained in the several acts of parliament. Our will is heretofore and we charge you strictly and command that incontinent these our letters seen you pass to the Market Cross of Edinburgh and remaining market crosses of the head burghs of this our ancient kingdom, and there in our name and authority by open proclamation make intimation of the said adjournment of our parliament of this kingdom from the said fourteenth day of January instant to the said fifteenth day of April next thereafter, and ordain these presents to be printed and published. Given under our signet at Edinburgh the fourth day of January and of our reign the third year 1692, signed thus as sederunt.

Right trustie and Entirely Beloved Cousine and Councellor Right trustie and Right uell beloved Cousines and Councellors Right trustie and uell beloved Cousines and Councellors we Greet yow well wheras By our former Letter dated at our Camp at St Gerard the tuetie seventh of August last ue did authorise and requyre yow to Emitt a proclamatione for adjourning our Currant parliament from the fifteenth day of September last to the fourteenth day of January nixt to Come Jaj vjc nyntie tuo And now In regard That our affairs doe not requyre the meeting of one said Parliament so soon Therfore It is our uill and pleasure And we doe heirby authorize and Requyre you furthuith to Emitt a proclamatione for adjurning our said parliament From the said Fourteenth day of January to the Fifteenth day of Apryle therafter Requyring all the members therof to Give their attendance att Edinburgh on that day in the accustomed manner and under the ordinarie Certificationes For doing wherof this shall be your warrand And soe ue bid yow heartily Farewell Given at our Court at Kensingtoune the tuenty nynth day of December Jaj vjc nynty one and of our reigne the third year By his Majesties Command Sic subscribitor John Dalrymple

A Letter from the King to the Council Read and ordered to be Recorded whereof the tenor follows

Right trusty and entirely beloved cousin and councillor, right trusty and right well beloved cousins and councillors, right trusty and well beloved cousins and councillors, we greet you well, whereas by our former letter, dated at our camp at St Gerard, the twenty seventh of August last, we did authorise and require you to emit a proclamation for adjourning our current parliament from the fifteenth day of September last to the fourteenth day of January next to come 1692, and now in regard that our affairs do not require the meeting of our said parliament so soon, therefore it is our will and pleasure, and we do hereby authorise and require you forthwith to emit a proclamation for adjourning our said parliament from the said fourteenth day of January to the fifteenth day of April thereafter, requiring all the members thereof to give their attendance at Edinburgh on that day in the accustomed manner and under the ordinary certifications for doing whereof this shall be your warrant. And so we bid you heartily farewell. Given at our court at Kensington the twenty ninth day of December 1691 and of our reign the third year. By his majesty’s command. Signed thus, John Dalrymple.
