Liberatione Mcnaughten

Anent the petitione Given in to the Lords of their Majesties privy Councell Be John Mcnaughtan prisoner of warr in the Cannongate tolbooth Sheuing That wheras their Lordships petitioner hes Continoued In this noysome prisone since Cromdalle to the Great prejudice of his health by his long Imprisonment and therby rendered altogither Incappable to Act or doe anything for his Livelyhood But as his dependence may be upon his relationes and freinds Amongst whom the petitioner resolves to Live the rest of his appoynted tyme And therfore Humbly Craving the saids Lords would Grant the petitioners Liberatione as the said petitione Bears The Saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having Considered this petitione given in to them Be the above John Mcnaughtan They Heirby Give ordor and uarrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of their tolbooth To sett the petitioner at Liberty furth of the same In respect He hath Inacted himself in the books of privie Councell That he shall Live peacably under and uith all submissione to the present Government of their Majesties King William and Queen Mary And that he shall not Act consult nor Contryve any thing in prejudice therof nor Converss or Correspond uith rebells And that He shall appear before the saids Lords of their Majesties privy Councell when called for under the penaltie of five hundreth merks scotts in caise he shall transgress In any part of the premisses
