Act

Act for a voluntar Contribution for building St Leonards Colledge

Anent the petition given in and presented to the Lords of his majesties privie Counsell by the principall and remanent, masters of Saint Leonards Colledge, Showeing that whereas one the fifteenth day of december last ane accedentall violent fire brock out in the forsaid Coledge whose devoureing flames hes now laid in ashe, the best and farr most beutifull parte of the fabrick hereof Containeing the Great dinneing hall publick and privat schoolls, and other appertments withouth which the masters and Schollers Cannot possible be Lodged or accomedated, and seing we are utterly incapable of rebuildeing the same, with the ordainry rents and revenewes, of the Colledge which are scarcelly sufficient for defrayeing the Common Charges, of the publict table mantaineing of the fabrick and other neccessary expenses, the petitioners, must therefore Crave leave to Represent to the saids Lords ther Lamentable Case that methods may be taken for the preventeing the utter ruine of ane ancient semenary of Learneing which hath formerly and still may produce many usefull instruments both to Church and State, and Therefore Craveing to the effect after mentioned as the said petition bears The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing Considered this petition given in to them be the within principall and remanent masters of St Leonards Colledge they hereby Grant warrand for a Generall Contribution to be Collected through the whole parish Churches of this kingdom, wpon such dayes as the petitioners shall Condescend wpon for the Rebuildeing of the Common hall, publick schools and other apartements of the said Colledge and Recomends the petitioners to all noblemen Gentlemen and barrowes, and all Generous learned persons and societeyes, to Contribute to so good a work and grants warrand to the petitioners to appoynt Collectors for uplifteing the said Contribution in Respect the petitioners hes given bond and found sufficient Caution acted in the books of privie Counsell for the Right application thereof fore the ends and uses forsaids

Warrant

Warrant for puting the Sentence of Death against Allaster More to execution

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill haveing Considered a Report made to them by a Committie of their oun number Upon the two Severall processes and indytments Led and deduced before the Commission of Justiciary for the Northern district of the highlands at the Instance of their procurator Fiscall with the Sentence of death past and pronunced by the saids Commissioners against the said Allaster therupon appointing him to be execute to death upon the Twentie thrid day of January Current; Which two processes were laid before the saids Lords by the saids Commissioners Conforme to and in obedience to ane former ordinance of the Lords of privy Councill direct to the saids Commissioners theranent. The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Doe hereby Allow and appoint the forsaid Sentence of death pronunced against the said Allaster More upon the processes abovementioned to be put to due and punctuall execution against him upon the said Twenty thrid day of January Current without Stopt or hinderence from the former order of the Councill direct to the saids Commissioners theranent
