Commission to Captain Bennet To Be Muster Master General of the forces

Commission under her Majesties Royal hand Infavours of Captain William Bennet of Grubet younger To be Her Majesties Muster Master General Being presented by Sir Gilbert Eliot The samen was Read and ordered to be recorded And delyvered by the Lord president To the said Sir Gilbert in name of the said Captain William Bennet of Grubet Who receaved the samen on his knee as use is Wherof the tennor followes.

Ann By the Grace of God Queen of Scotland England France and Ireland Defender of the faith To Our Trusty and weell beloved Captain William Bennet of Grubet younger Grating Wee reposeing speciall trust and confidence in your Loyaltie conduct and integritie. Have Nominated Constituted and Appointed And by these presents Doe Nominat Constitute and Appoint yow to be Muster Master General of all our standing forces horse foot and Dragoons And of the Garisons now under our Constant pay in our Antient Kingdome of Scotland, As also of the Militia of our said Kingdome that shall at any time be raised for our service Hereby Requiring yow By your selfe or your Deputs (For whom yow shall be answerable) To muster our said forces in whole or in pairt as often as yow shall be required therto by our privie Councill of our said Kingdome, The Lords of our Thesaurie or the Commander in Cheiff of our forces there for the time being and to make true and Exact Muster Rolls boeth of the Numbers of horse foot and Dragoons and of the qualities of there horses and arms off which Muster Rolls yow are to give Exact Coppies signed by yow to any Appointed by our said privy Councill And to the Lords Commissioners of our Thesaurie As to the Commander in Cheiff of our forces there for the tyme being, And yow are strictly to observe and follow all such orders Directiones and Instructiones as Yow shall from tyme to time receave from us, our privie Councill a forsaid or the Lords of our Thesaurie For all which this shall be your warrand Given under our Royall hand and signet Att our Court att Kingstoun the seventeen day of October 1704 And of our Rigne the Thrid year. The Lords of her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Recommend Robert Greirson at the Kirk of Taynron and James Huntar in Craigencoen in the said paroch, To the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesties Theasaurie for five Hundred merks As their praemium in apprehending James Innes ane preist. And Recommends to the saids Lords Commissioners of Theasaury To cause present and ready payment be made accordingly.
