Act

Liberatione William Finlaysone

The Lords of his majesties privy Councill doe hereby give ordor and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh and keeper of their Tolbooth to set at libertie furth thereof William Finlaysone presently prisoner therein In respect he hes given bond and found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Council That He shall appear before the Councill when called for and in the meantyme that he shall live peaceablie under and with all submissione to the present Goverment of his majestie King William and that He shall not act, consult or contryve anything in prejudice thereof nor shall not converse nor corresponde with any Rebells under the penalty of two Hundred pound scots in case he shall transgress in any part of the premisses

Letter frae the King anent raising the value of the Coyne

The Letter afterinsert being read was ordered to be recorded and a Comittee was immediatlie appoynted for considering how the same may be speedilie and effectuallie obeyed followeth the tenor of the Letter sic suprascribitur William Rex Right trusty and right welbeloved Cousin and Councillour Right trusty and intirely beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and welbeloved Cousins and Councellors Right trusty and welbeloved Councellors Right trusty and welbeloved Councillors2 and trusty and welbeloved Councillors we greet you well We have considered your letter about the money and we doe allow you to raise the value of coyne of that our Kingdome and of any species whatsoever of forraigne Coyne as you shall judge to be most for the advantage of the natione as also that you ordor all clipt money to be Currant and pass only by weight and in ordor to these purposes you are to emitt a proclamatione That the same may be knowen over the Kingdome for the doeing of which these presents shall be your warrand so we bid you heartily farwell Given at our Court at Kensingtoune the sexth day of Apryl Jaj vjc nynty fyve years and of our reigne the sexth year by his Majesties Command sic subscribitur J Johnstoune
