Warrant to the Commissioners of Supply within the Shyre of Stirling to meet and proportion the cess etc

The Lords of her Majesties privy Councill Doe hereby appoint and Ordaine the Earle of Linlithgow and Callander Shiriff principall of the Shiriffdome of Stirling, and in his absence Mr Charles Bennett of Livilands his depute to intimat to all the Commissioners of Supplie within the said Shyre of Stirling To meett at the said burgh of Stirling being the head burgh of the Shyre upon the Second Wedensday of January nixt to come being the threteinth day of the Samen moneth; and ther and then to proportion and Lay on the cess payable by and Imposed upon the Said Shyre at Candlmas nixt to come; and for the Subsequent termes mentioned in the Sixth act of the Last Session of the late parliament dated the Nyntein day of June last by past with power to them to Choise ane Collector for uplifting the said Cess and Supplie and take Sufficient Caution of him and to doe every other thing appointed by the said act of parliament for that effect And the saids Lords doe hereby prorogate and continue the time and dyet for the Commissioners of Supplie within the said shyre to qualifie themselves for being Commissioners of Supplie therof by Swearing the Oath of alledgance and Subscrybeing the Same with the assurance to her Majestie untill the said threteinth day of January nixt to come inclusive And allowes all of them who shall qualifie themselves before or upon the said day to be Commissioners of Supply for the said Shyre Conforme to the Severall acts of parliament and proclamationes of Councill made theranent.

The Formula taken by The Lord Sempill

Conforme to the above warrant the said Francis Lord Semple Compeared in presence of the said Earle of Eglingtoune and Lord Advocat and Swear and Signed the forsaid formula apointed by act of parliament, wherof the tenor followes Wee Francis Lord Semple etc Doe Sinceirly from my heart profess and declair before God who Searcheth the heart That I do deny disoun and abhore these tennets and doctrines of the papall Romish Church Viz the Supreamacy of the pope and Bishope of Rome over all the pastures of the Catholick Church, His power and authority over Kings princes and States; and the infalability that he pretends to either without or with a generall Councill his power of dispenceing and pardoning; The doctrine of transubstantiation; and the Corporall presence with the Communion without the Cup in the Sacrament of the Lords Super The adoration and Sacrafice professed and practised by the popish Church in the Mass; The Invocation of Angells and Saints; The worshiping of Imadges Crosses and relicts; The doctrine of Supererogation indulgences and purgatory and the Service and worship in ane unnowen tongue All which tenets and doctrines of the Said Church I beleive to be Contrary to, and inconsistent with the wryten word of God; And I do from my heart deny disoun and disclame the said doctrines and tenets of the Church of Rome; As in the presence of God without any equivocation or Mentall reservation; But according to the knowen and plain meaning of the words as to me offered and proposed So help me God Sic Subscribitur Semple.

Commission under the great seall of this kingdome In favors of John Earle of Tullibardin To be Lord privy Seall being presented by the Lord Register The Samen was read and ordered to be recorded; and therafter delyvered by the Earle of Eglingtoune as Lord president for the time to the said Lord Register In name and in absence of the said Earle of Tullibardin who received the samen upon his knee as use is.
Off which Commission the tenor followes.
