The Councill nominates and Appointes his Grace The Duke of Queensberrie, The Earles of Morton Lauderdae Leven and Annandale, Lords Thesaurer Deput and Crosrigg, Sir Robert Sinclair of Stevensone and the present Lord provost of Edinburgh To be a Committee to meet and take into Consideration such occurrences or affairs as may fall out in this time of Closs Vaccance now Ensueing, And declares any five of the forsaid Committee to be a Sufficient quorum, with power to the Said Committee or their quorum, To write if they see a necessity for calling a Councill To the Lord high Chancellor, That he may call the same or if it be necessary Remitts to the Committee to call the Same And to acquaint The Lord high Chancellor and their other members of the time of its meeting.

Warrant For pairties to be sent to Brae-Marr, Blair-Findie and Curgaff

The Lords of his majesties privy Councill, Doe heirby give order and warrant to Collonell Archbald Row Commander in cheiff for the tyme of his majesties forces within this Kingdom, To detach the number of Fourty Five able men of his Majesties foot souldiers, And to cause march and quarter the said men at the places or posts following viz Fifteen of the said number at or about the Kirktoune of Castle-Town of Bremarr and fifteen of them at Blair Findie, and the other Fifteen and Curgaff with officers suitable for security of the peace of these places of the highlands, and to prevent Sorneing and Theiveing.

The Lords of his majesties privy Councill, Doe heirby give order and warrant To Collonell Archbald Row, Commander in cheiff of his majesties forces within this Kingdom for the time to cause remove The detachment of his majesties foot forces Consisting of fifty men which by order of Councill was sent to the Town of St Andrews And Appoints the said Collonell To cause quarter a Company of men only at the said Town of St Andrews for the Ends specified in the former warrand, for sending of the forsaid detachment thither, To Remain their till furder order.

A Letter from the Commissioners of Justiciary for the peace of the highlands mett at Inch subscribed by the Lord Forbes direct to the Lord high Chancellor dated the Twenty Third of march last, Anent The Troublesome caice of that Countrey by some of the Mcdonalds And other Louse persones, with a Bond sent with the said Letter, To be subscrived by the heretors in the Highlands being both read, The Councill nominates and appoints his Majesties Advocate, The Lords Aberuchill, Crosrigg and Phesdoe To be a Committee to Consider the said Letter and Band of Cautionrie, And to Compare the Coppie of the Bond now sent with former Bands granted be the haretors in the Highlands, And To Draw up a Band to be Subscrived be the saids Haretors in the precise terms of Law, And to Return a Draught of the Band, so to be prepared be the Committee, so soon as it is Ready, with ane Answer to my Lord Chancellors Letter to the saids Commissioners mett at Inch.
