Commission
Commission under the privy Seall Nominating and appointing John Hoge writer in Edinburgh to be one of the Macers of privy Councill Read and ordered to be Recorded And being Called in did Swear and Signe the Oath of alledgance and Subscrybed the assurance and association and the Lord high Chancelor haveing administrat2 to him the Oath de fideli, he was received a macer accordingly. Off the which Commission the tenor Followes
William be the Grace of God King of Great Brittain France and Ireland defender of the faith; Forasmuchas Wee Considering That the place and office of one of the ordinary macers before the Lords of our privy Councill Exchaquer and Commissions Is vacant in our hands and at our Royall Gift and disposition throw the demission of George Weir late possessor therof; And being informed of the Loyaltie and Sufficiency of John Hoge writer in Edinburgh for exerceing the said office; Therfore Witt yee us to have Nominated and appointed Likeas Wee (with advice and consent of our Right trustie and right well beloved Cousines and Councillors Patrick Earle of Marchmont Lord high Chancelor of our said kingdom James Duke of Queensbery; Archibald Earle of Argyll William Earle of Annandale, Adam Cockburn of Ormistoune our Thesaurer depute and Mr Francis Montgomry of Giffan Lords Commissioners of our Thesaury and of the rest of the Lords and others Commissioners of our Exchequer of our Said Kingdome) By these presents Nominat Constitute and Appoint the said John Hoge dureing all the dayes of his Lifetime; To be one of the Macers before the Saids Lords of privy Councill Exchequer and Commissions and a Serjeant at armes in place of the said George Weir; Giveing Granting and disponeing to him the said office and place with all fies profitts duties Casualities priviledges and Immunities whatsomever therto belonging and Specially with the fie and Sallery of Fiftie pounds Sterling money yearly as the fie and Sallary of one of the Saids macers To be payed to him at two termes in the year Whitsunday and Martinmass be equall portiones, Begining the first termes payment therof at the terme of Martinmess nixt to come, And so to continue yearly and termly therafter dureing the Space forsaid; Commanding hereby the Saids Lords Commissioners of our Thesaury present or for the time being and all Collectors and receivers of our rents revenues customs and Casualities whatsoever of our Said kingdome To make payment of the Same accordingly; And alse Commanding the Saids Lords of our privy Councill, Exchequer and Commissions To Admitt and Receive the said John Hoge to the exercise of the Said office and to authorize him with their Testimoniall of Admission therto; and to administrat to him the Oathes of alledgance and de fideli administratione in Such cases accustumed, Given under our privy Seall at our Court at Kensingoune The Twenty fourth day of June 1701. And of our reigne the threteinth year. Per Signaturam Manu S:D:N Regis Supra Scripitur Manubissy Commissionariorum Thesaury et Seaccary Subscrybed Writen to the privy Seall and registrat the twenty first day of October 1701 Sic Subscribitur William Alves depute. Warrant
The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Appoints the Magistrats of Edinburgh and keeper of their Tolbooth To delyver the person of Alexander Mcdonald alias Allaster More to the officer of any party of his Majesties forces upon his recept That Shall be Sent by Major Generall Ramsay Commander in Cheiff of his Majesties forces within this kingdom To whom the saids Lords Recommends the sending of a sufficient party duely Commanded for that effect; And appoints the said party to transport the said Allaster More Safely to the Toun of Aberdeen And appoints the magistrates of the said burgh to receive the said Allaster More and detaine him in prison Securely untill he be duely tryed according to Law as they will be answerable.

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Doe hereby Grant warrant to the Magistrats of Edinburgh to appoint Illuminationes to be put out within the Toun of Edinburgh and Cannogate both for the Solemnity of his Majesties birth day and as expressions of Joy for his Majesties Safe returne how soon so ever the newes shall come of his Majesties arryvall to Brittaine.

Proclamation adjourning the parliament to the Eight of January nixt Read, Signed and appointed to be published and recorded wherof the tenor followes.
William By the Grace of God King of Great Brittaine France and Ireland defender of the faith To our Lyon King at armes and his bretheren heraulds Macers of our privy Councill, pursevants messengers at armes, Our Shirrifs in that part Conjunctllie and Severallie Specially Constitute greeting Forasmuchas Wee by our proclamation of the date the Second day of August Last by past Did adjourn this our2 current parliament to the Sixth day of November instant; And wheras the present State of our3 affairs doe not requyre the meetting of our said parliament So Soon as the day to which the Same was adjourned; And that the members of our said parliament may not be put to unnecessary trouble and Charges; Therfore Wee with advice of the Lords of our privy Councill Doe hereby Continue the adjournment of our said present parliament from the said Sixth day of November instant Untill the Eight day of January in the usuall way and maner, and under the Certificationes Contained in the Severall acts of parliament made theranent Our Will is Heirfore and wee charge yow Strictly and Command That incontinent these our Letters Seen yee pass to the Marcat cross of Edinburgh and to the Marcat crosses of the remanent head burghes of the Severall Shyres and Stewartries within this our ancient kingdome And therat in our name and authority make publict intimation That our said parliament is adjourned to the said eight day of January nixt to come And Ordaines these presents to be printed and published Given under our Signet att Edinburgh the Fourth day of November and of our reigne the threteinth year i70i Sic Subscribitur.

Letter from the King to the Councill for adjourning the parliament to the Eight day of January nixt to come. Read and ordered to be Recorded wherof the tenor followes.
Sic supra Scribitur William Rex
Right trustie and right well beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trustie and well beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trusty and well beloved Councillors and trustie and weell beloved Councillors; Wee greet yow well. Wheras the present posture of our2 affairs does not require the meetting of our parliament on the Sixth of November nixt to to3 which it was Last adjourned; That therfore the members may not be putt to unnecessary attendance It is our Will and pleasure, and wee hereby Authorize and requyre yow to Isue furth a proclamation in our name adjourning our Current parliament from the Said Sixth of November nixt to the Eight day of January ensueing; And ordering all the members to attend that day at the usuall place and upon the accustomed Certificationes, For doeing wherof this Shall be your warrant; So wee bid yow heartily fareweell; Given at our Court at the Hague the 21st of October 1701 and of our reigne the 13th year.
