The Lords of her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Appoint and Ordain the Great and Quarter sealls that are newly Engraven by James Clark Ingraver in the Mint to be made use of in tyme comeing And appoints and ordains The old great and Quarter sealls to be defaced and broken In presence of Councill and delyvered in manner following Viz The broken Great seall to Sir Alexander Ogilvie of Forglen Depute keeper thereof, And the broken Qyarter seall to Ronald Campbell Depute keeper of the samen Which accordingly this day was done And Appoints James Clark Engraver of the Mint to engrave the signet of the Justiciary And the Clerk to make use of the old signet till the new be engraven.

The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Command and Ordaine Captaine Thomas Gordon Commander of her Majesties Friggat the Royall Mary, To saill the Eight day of September instant wind and weather serving from Leith to Newcastle, and to receave under his Convoy the shipp belonging to Archibald Drummond hyred by the Lords Commissioners of her Majesties Theasaurie For transporting and Carrying the French prisoners for present in the Tolbooth of Edinburgh, Cannongate, and Leith. And there and at the said port To delyver the saids prisoners to any person or persons haveing her Majesties warrand for receaveing of them And upon the saids Captain Gordons arryvall ther. The saids Lords Doe heirby Appoint and Ordaine him to intimat these his orders to the Mayor and Aldermen of New Castle or any others haveing warrand and order for receaving the saids prisoners And the saids Lords appoints and Ordains the said Captaine Gordon to return from New Castle to Leith. And to bring under his Convoy such Scotch ships as are homeward bound up.

The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Appoint and Ordaine the haill French prisoners That are lying in the Tolbooths of Edinburgh, Cannogate, and Leith, (Except Jacobus Soetenay and Gerardt Druive and Jacob Strobbie his two men (who are appointed to continue in prison) To be shipped aboard of Archibald Drummond his shipe lying at Leith to be by him carried to Newcastle And for that effect Appoints and Ordains The Magistrats of Edinburgh, Cannongate, and Leith, and keepers of their Tolbooths, To delyver the persons of the haill French prisoners in their Custodie and Tolbooths (Except the said Jacobus Soetenary and Gerard Druive and Jacob Strobbe his said two men) To ane party duely Commanded To be sent by the Livetennent Generall to receave them off their hands and put them aboard of the said shipe, and that without payment of any house dews, And to the effect forsaid Recommends to Livetennent Generall George Ramsay Commander in Cheiff of ther Majesties forces to send upon the Eight day of September Instant at Eight of the Clock in the morning to the respective Tolbooths of Edinburgh, Cannongate and Leith, ane sufficient and compitent number of men Duely Commanded To receave from the saids Magistrats and keepers of their Tolbooths, The persons of the haill French prisoners in their custodie (Except the said Captain and his said two men) And carry them to Leith, and shipp them aboard of Archibald Drummonds shipe to be transported to New Castle as said is.

The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill, Doe heirby Recommend to Livt Generall George Ramsay Commander in Cheiff of Her Majesties forces within this Kingdome To order betuixt and the Eight day of September Instant, Ten sentinells and one serjant, aboard of Archibald Drummonds shipe, That is hyred to Carry the French prisoners from Leith to New Castle, and that for securing the prisoners in the night tyme for preventing there runing away with the said shipe.

The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill, Doe heirby Appoint and Ordaine Petter Delacour French man now prisoner in the Tolbooth of Edinburgh instantly to be sett at Liberty furth of the said Tolbooth, And that Notwithstanding of the former ordinance of privie Councill appointing him to be shipped aboard with the rest of the French prisoners, and sent to New Castle, And appoints and ordains, The Magistrats of Edinburgh and keeper of their Tolbooth To sett the said Peter Delacour at liberty furth of their Tolbooth and that without payment of house dews And Recommends the keeper of the Tolbooth to the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesties Theasaurie for payment makeing to him of the house dews Dureing Delacours imprisonment, And appoints him to Enact him selfe in the Books of privie Councill That he shall Depart furth of the Kingdome Betuixt and the Fyfteen day of October next to come.

Patent of Honour In favours of Sir James Stewart of Bute to be Earle of Bute etc Being presented by Sir Gilbert Eliot Clerk The Samen was Read and ordered to be Recorded and therafter delyvered by the said Sir Gilbert to the Lord high Chancelor who delyvered the Samen to the said Earle of Bute and who received the said Patent on his knee as use is Wherof the tenor followes.
