Act Anent 145 men to be posted at Severall places in Edinburgh

His Majesties high Commissioner and Lords of his Majesties privy Councill having heard Information about the Rable yesternight and Considering what may be necessar for the Security of the place and preventing the like Rables for the tyme Coming, They are of opinion That his Grace The Duke of Queensberry His Majesties high Commissioner, Give order and warrand To the Commander in Cheiff or any other officer his Grace thinks Fitt, To Cause march Ane Hundered Fourty and Five men To the Town of Edinburgh, And his Majesties high Commissioner, and Lords of privy Councill order and appoint Twenty five of these men, To be placed within, and Keep Guard att the Nather-Bow port, And Threescore therof To Keep Guard in the Low Town Councill-house of Edinburgh, and other Threescore therof, To keep Guard att the Weigh-house of the said burgh untill furder order, As also It is the opinion of the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill, That his Grace his Majesties high Commissioner Give orders to Cause Two field peices be Carried To and placed at the said Port of the Neither-bow, And Recomends to the Earles of Crafurd, Mar and Leven, To Regulat the Bounds of the severall Guards within the said Burgh.
