Act In favours of the Lady Towie

Anent The Petition given in To the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill By Elizabeth Barclay Lady Towie Shewing That where her Son Patrick Barclay Being only of Eleven years of age of therby is in the custody and Keeping and under the Education of William Grant of Creichie his Tutor Testamentar, But a profest papist And so by the Eight act Parliament Jaj vic Sixty one, wherby It is appointed That Childeren under Popish Tutors be taken from them and be Committed to the Education of some well affected and Religious friend at their Lordships sight disabled To have the said Custody and Keeping, And it belongs to their Lordships To order his Education as they shall Think fitt, And Seing The said Creichie is now in Town and willing To Comply with their Lordships pleasure. And Therfore Humbly Craving Their Lordships To ordain him to Exhibite and deliver up his said pupill To her his mother, or to any other well affected and Religious freind as the said Petition bears. The Saids Lords of His Majesties privy Councill Having considered this petition given in to them by Elizabeth Barclay Lady Towie and answers therto for Grant of Creichie Tutor to her Son, They heirby Decerne and ordain William Grant of Creichie Tutor to the within Patrick Barclay To Exhibite and deliver up the person of the said Patrick Barclay To the overseers appointed by his said deceast father particularly to the Earle of Aberdeen one of these overseers and That att the Town of Aberdeen, And appointes the said Noble Earle To name and Condescend upon a Protestant house in the said toun of Aberdeen within which the said Patrick is to abide and Remain with a Protestant Governour for his Education and nominates and appointes Mr […] Osburn Professor of divinity at Aberdeen To be overseer to the said Patrick Barclay and to see to his Education, So long as he Remaines in the said house and Town
