Letter from the King To the Councill for delivering Two peices of ordinances To the Earle of Argyll

The Letter underwrittin from his Majesty to the Lords of his privy Councill Being Read was ordered to be Recorded. Whereof the Tenor follows.

Right trusty and Right welbeloved Cousin and Councellor, Right trusty and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councellor, Right Trusty and welbeloved Cousins and Councellors, Right Trusty and welbeloved Councellors and Trusty and welbeloved Councellors. We greet yow well. Whereas We are Informed That the Two Peices of ordinances lying in our Castle of Edinburgh Called the Glyd-Gun and the Plus ultra, Doe propperly Belong to our Right Trusty and welbeloved Cousin and Councellor, Archbald Earle of Argyle, yow are Therfore heirby authorized and Required to deliver up to the said Earle or his order, The forsaids Two peices of ordinance, For doing wherof This shall be yowr Warrant, And so we bid yow heartily farewell, Given at our Court at Hampton Court The Twenty nynth day of Aprile Jaj viic. And of our Reign The Twelfth year. By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur Seafield
