Letter from the King For Repriveing of John Frazer of Migavie and Hugh Frazer of Laucloyn

The Letter underwritten from his Majesty To the Lords of his privy Councill, Being Read, was ordered to be Recorded, wherof the Tenor follows.

Right Trusty and right welbeloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councellor, Right Trusty and welbeloved Cousines and Councillors, Right trusty and welbeloved Councillors, And Trusty and welbeloved Councellors. Wee greet yow well. We have considered the petition offered to us by John Frazer of Miggavie and Hugh Frazer of Leuchloin, Wherin they Represent That haveing been forfeited in absence and condemned to dy, For their accession to the Convocation of our Subjects raised by Captain Simeon Frazer. And haveing been afterwards taken, they are at present under Sentence of death, to be Executed the First day of December next; And Craving That in Consideration of their having been Sentenced to die in absence, and of other circumstances which pleads for our Royall mercy, We would think fitt To Reprive them, untill we may be fully Informed of their caice, It is therfore our will and pleasure, and we heirby authorize and Require yow, To grant a Reprive to the Said John and Hugh Frazers of the forsaid Sentence of death, till the Twentieth day of January next; And in the mean tyme yow are to Transmitt to us the full and clear State of that affair and of their concern therin That we may give Such further orders as well Shall Judge necessary, For doing wherof this Shall be your Warrant And so we bid yow heartily farewell. Given att our Court at Kensington The Twenty Fifth day of November i699, and of our Reign the Eleventh year. By his Majesties Command. Sic Subscribitur Seafeild.
