Recommendation To Sheriffs Baillies etc To give Concurrance To the Commissioners of the Generall assembly
Anent The Address of the Commission appointed by the late Generall assembly to meet at Edinburgh given in to the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill2 Shewing That the late Generall assembly found it needfull to send Two Commissions for visiting the North one to the Provinces of Angus, Mernes, Aberdeen, Murray and Ross, and another to the Bounds of the Presbetries of Caithness Orkney and Zetland and the said Assembly laid it on them to apply to their Lordships for ane act Recomending to and Requireing all Sheriffs Stewarts Bailifs and their Deputes Magistrats of Burghs Justices of Peace and other officers of the Law, Commanders of his Majesties Forces and others To give to the said Comisiones3 and Each of them and the members thereof all the Concurrance Countenance and assistances which the Law allowes, And That they protect Encouradge and fortifie them in the good work Committed to them. And Seing It may tend much for the Encouragement of the Saids Commissions and to the advantadge of the good work Committed to them to have the said Act in their favours, as their Lordships have been in use formerly to doe in the like caices And Therfore Humbly Craving to the Effect underwritten as the said Address Bears. The Saids Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Having considered this Address of the Commission of the late Generall Assembly appointed to meet att Edinburgh, They doe heirby Recomend To and Require all Sheriffs Stewarts Bailifs and their Deputs, Magistrats of Burghs, Justices of peace and other officers of the Law Commanders of his majesties Forces To give to the within Two Commissiones and Each of them and the members thereof all the Concurrance Countenance and assistance which the law allowes as they will be answerable And that they protect Encouradge and fortifie the saids Commissioners in the Good work Committed to them
