Procedure
Commission To Major General George Ramsay To be Commander in Cheiff of the Forces in Scotland
His Majesties Commission In favours of Major Generall George Ramsay, To Command in cheiff all his Majesties Forces already raised or that shall be raised in this Kingdom, And To doe Every thing That belongs to the office of Commander in Cheiff, Read And The Councill ordained the said Commission To be Registrat in the Councill Books, And The said Major Generall George Ramsay, Being called for he swore and subscribed the oath of alledgance and subscrived the assurance and association, To his Majesty appointed by acts of Parliament and Proclamationes of privy Councill, And The Lord high Chancellor did administrate to him the oath de fideli. Follows the Tenor of the Commission

Whereas we doe Repose special Trust and Confidence in your Couradge Conduct and affection To our Government, wee have Therfore Thought Fitt by these presents To give yow our warrand and authority, To Command in Cheiff all our Forces already Raised or That shall be raised within that our ancient Kingdom, And yow are to obey such orders as yow shall Receave from tyme to tyme from us or the Lords of our privy Councill yow are also to take particular Inspection of all our saids Forces, And To doe Every Thing That Belongs To the office of Commander in Cheiff, For doing of which This shall be to yow for Commanding and to our Forces obeying yow a Sufficient warrant, Given att our Court and Kensingtone The Eleventh day of January Jaj viic years And of our Reign the Eleventh year, By his Majesties Command Sic Subscribitur Seafield.
