Committee Anent Alexander Kellie and Charles Sheriff
His Majesties high Commissioner and Lords of his Majesties privy Councill, Doe heirby nominate and appoint The Earles of Mar Lauderdale and Leven, Lord Advocat, and Lord Thesaurer Deput To be a Committee To call For and Examine Alexander Kellie presently prisoner in Edinburgh Tolbooth lately come from France in a ship wherof Charles Sheriff Skipper in the Ellie was master Anent his Bussiness and what was acted be him and what persones he conversed with while he was att France, And Also to Examine the said Charles Sheriff Skipper in the Ellie upon the same Interrogators and what other persones he Brought with him and what they carried with them, and Both the saids Alexander Kellie, and Charles Sheriff upon such other Interrogators as the Lords of the Committee Shall Think pertinent, and Recomends to the said Committee To meet the morrow at Ten in the forenoon and declares any Three of them to be a Sufficient quorum And Appointes the said Lord Advocat or Sir Patrick Home his Majesties Solicitor To write to the said Charles Sheriff or cause cite him to attend the Committee, and grants diligence for that Effect if needfull.
