Proclamation Adjourning the Parliament
The Following Proclamation In obedience to his Majesties Letter being prepaired was read voted and Signed and ordered to be Recorded, quherof the tenor Follows.
William By the grace of God, King of Great Brittain France and Ireland defender of the Faith; To our Lyon King att armes and his Bretheren Heiraulds, Macers of our privy Councill, Pursevants Messengers att armes, Our Sheriffs in that pairt, Conjunctly and Severally Specialy Constitut, Greeting. Whereas we by our Letter To our Commissioner, and the Lords of our privy Councill, of the Twenty Sixth day of July last bypast, Did order the Adjournment of our Parliament To the Two and Twentieth Instant we were fully Resolved It Should have mett on the said day, But our necessar affairs haveing detained us longer abroad then we at First Intended. And We Judgeing it Still Fitt, we should be in Brittain before the meeting of our said Parliament we Therfore with advice of the Lords of our privy Councill, have adjourned and heirby adjournes our said present current parliament From the said Twenty Two day of October Instant, To the Twenty Nynth day of the said moneth and year. And doe heirby order and Require all the members of our said Parliament, To attend att Edinburgh The Said Twenty Nynth day of October Instant in the usual manner, and under the Certificationes Contained in the Severall acts of Parliament made thereanent. Our Will is Heirfore and we Charge yow Strictly and Command That Incontinent these our Letter seen ye pass to the mercat Cross of Edinburgh, and to the mercat Crosses of the Remanent head burghs of the severall shires and stewartries within this Kingdom, and Thereat in our name and authority make publick intimation That our said Parliament is adjourned from the said Twenty Two day of October Instant To the said Twenty Nynth day of the Samen Moneth and ordaines these presents to be printed and published Given under our Signet att Edinburgh The fifteenth day of October, and of our Reign the i2th year 1702, sic subscribitur.
