Proclamation Adjourning the Parliament

The Following Proclamation For Adjourning the Parliament, Being prepared was Read voted approven and Signed, wherof the Tenor Follows.
William By the Grace of God King of Great Brittain France and Ireland defender of the faith To; our Lyon King att armes and his Bretheren heraulds Macers of our privy Councill, Pursevants, Messengers at armes, our Sheriffs in that pairt Conjunctly and Severaly Specialy Constitute Greeting. Forasmuchas our Right Trusty and Right Entirely beloved Cousin and Councellor James Duke of Queensberry our Commissioner Did on good Reasons, Adjourn the present Session of our current Parliament of this our ancient Kingdom of Scotland To the Twenty day of June Instant, with which we are well Satisfied and do approve the same; And we Finding That the present Circumstances of our affairs Require a furder Adjournment; Therfore And That the members of our said Parliament may not be put to unnecessar attendance We with Advice of the Lords of our privy Councill, have Adjourned and heirby Adjournes this our said Current Parliament from the said Twentyeth day of June Instant, To the fourth day of July next to Come, And we doe heirby order and Require all the members of our said Parliament, To attend att Edinburgh The said fourth day of July next to Come, To which our said Parliament is Adjourned in the usual way and under the pains Contained in the severall Acts of Parliament made thereanent. Our will is Heirfore And we Charge yow Strictly and Command That Incontinent these our Letters seen ye pass to the mercat Cross of Edinburgh, And To the mercat Crosses of the the2 Remanent head-burghs of the severall Shyres and Stewartries of this our ancient Kingdom, And There by open Proclamation make Intimation That our Said Parliament is Adjourned from the said Twenty day of June Instant, To the said Fourth day of July next to come, And ordaines these presents to be printed. Given under our Signet att Edinburgh The Seventeenth day of June and of our Reign the Twelfth year i700, Sic Subscribitur.
