Proclamation for a Nationall fast

Proclamation appoynting a Solemn Nationall fast Read, voted and approven, Signed and ordered to be recorded, wherof the tenor follows.
Anne by the Grace of God Queen of Great Brittaine, France and Irland defender of the faith, To […] Meacers of our Privie Councell, Messengers at arms, our Shirreffs in that pairt Conjunctllie and Severallie Speciallie constitut Greeting, Forasmuch as wee takeing to our Serious consideration the many causes ther are for appoynting a day for publict fasting and humiliation for prayers and Supplications to be made to Allmightie God throughout this kingdome, both by reasone of abounding Sins and provocations, And for imploreing and obtaineing the favour and blessing of God wpon ws, our Councells and forces both by Sea and Land, for the preservation of the true protestant Religion, And of these our dominions and the defence of all the Churches of Chryst, and Liberties of Europe, And that the Generall Assembly of this Church have appoynted a Generall fast to be keept for the above mentioned causes and other reasons contained in ther Act, And have made application to our privie Councell for interposeing of our authoritie and Supplication to Almightie God to be Solemnly and Generally observed through out this Kingdome on the dayes following Viz The Twentie third day of May nixt on this Syde the river of Tay, and the Sixth day of June therafter on the other syde of Tay, Strictly heirby Commanding all Ministers and others concerned that they be carefull of the observance of the premisses wnder the certifications Contained in the former proclamations for Generall fasts, which are heir held as repeated Our Will is Heirfore that ye pass and make publict proclamation of this our pleasure att the mercat Cross of Edinburgh, And all other places needfull, and that these presents with the forsaid Act of the Generall Assembly be printed and published, and that our Solicitor transmitt and disperse printed Coppies therof to all Ministers and others concerned in the usuall maner That non pretend ignorance, Given wnder our Signet at Edinburgh the Sevinteenth day of Apryll, And of our reigne the Fyfth year 1706. Proclamation for a national fast

Proclamation appointing a solemn national fast read, voted, and approved, signed and ordered to be recorded, whereof the tenor follows:
Anne by the grace of God queen of Great Britain, France, and Ireland defender of the faith, to […] macers of our privy council, messengers at arms, our sheriffs in that part conjunctly and severally specially constituted, greeting. Forasmuch as we taking to our serious consideration the many causes there are for appointing a day for public fasting and humiliation for prayers and supplications to be made to almighty God throughout this kingdom, both by reason of abounding sins and provocations, and for imploring and obtaining the favour and blessing of God upon us, our councils and forces both by sea and land, for the preservation of the true Protestant religion, and of these our dominions and the defence of all the Churches of Christ, and liberties of Europe, and that the general assembly of this Church have appointed a general fast to be kept for the above mentioned causes and other reasons contained in their act, and have made application to our privy council for interposing of our authority and supplication to almighty God to be solemnly and generally observed through out this kingdom on the days following viz 23 May next on this side the river of Tay, and 6 June thereafter on the other side of Tay, strictly hereby commanding all ministers and others concerned that they be careful of the observance of the premisses under the certifications contained in the former proclamations for general fasts, which are here held as repeated. Our will is therefore that you pass and make public proclamation of this our pleasure at the mercat cross of Edinburgh, and all other places needful, and that these present with the foresaid act of the general assembly be printed and published, and that our solicitor transmit and disperse printed copies thereof to all ministers and others concerned in the usual manner that none pretend ignorance. Given under our signet at Edinburgh 17 April, and of our reign the fifth year 1706. Act Continueing Mistris Jean Wallace Sequestration

Sir James Steuart her Majesties Advocat haveing represented to the Board that the Lord Hallcraig in whose custody Mistris Jean Wallace daughter to Sir William Wallace of Craigie, was Sequestrat, Is now dead, And that the said Mistriss Jean is for present In the house of Mr John Scott Minister at Carluke; The Lords of her Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby continue the Said Mistris Jean her Sequestration, And appoynts her to remaine in the house of the said Mr John Scott till further orders of Councell.

Act Shutting up the meeting house at Keith

The Lords of her Majesties privie Councell takeing to ther consideration a representation made to them by the Commission of the late Generall Assembly of the Church, and in name and by warrand of the said Assembly, off severall Church irregularities and disorders, as particularly that the parish of Keith and neighbourhood therof have been long infested with persons not qualified; and disaffected usurpeing the Ministeriall function ther, And that the severall of them have been, wpon Complaints, removed, yet the abuse is Still continued, And meeting houses keept up in these bounds, not only by persons not qualified, But even Suspect of popery, and withall of no certaine residence, Doe therfor requyre and Ordaine the Shirreff of the Shyre and his deputs, as also the Justices of peace and other officiars of the law within the said bounds to Suppress and Shutt wp the said meeting house, whither keept in the said parish or neighbourhood therof, as also to Secure Such irregular and wnqualified persons as Shall presume to exerce any pairt of the Ministeriall function within the said bounds in order to their tryall and due punishment according to law, As they will be answerable upon ther perrill.

Act Shutting up the meeting house at Keith

The lords of her majesty’s privy council taking to their consideration a representation made to them by the commission of the late general assembly of the Church, and in name and by warrant of the said assembly, of several church irregularities and disorders, as particularly that the parish of Keith and neighbourhood thereof have been long infested with persons not qualified and disaffected usurping the ministerial function there, and that the several of them have been, upon complaints, removed, yet the abuse is still continued, and meeting houses kept up in these bounds, not only by persons not qualified, but even suspected of popery, and also of no certain residence, do therefor require and ordain the sheriff of the shire and his deputes, as also the justices of peace and other officers of the law within the said bounds, to suppress and shut up the said meeting house, whether kept in the said parish or neighbourhood thereof, as also to secure such irregular and unqualified persons as shall presume to exercise any part of the ministerial function within the said bounds in order to their trial and due punishment according to law, as they will be answerable upon their peril.

The Lords of her Majesties privie Councell Takeing to ther consideration a representation made to them by the Commission of the late Generall Assembly of the Church, And in name and by warrand of the said assembly, off severall Church irregularities and disorders, as particularly that the parish and town of Elgine hes been long Infested, And the Ministeriall function therin usurped and invaded by persons nottourly disaffected to the Government, and that the sealls of these persons, have been, upon Complaints, removed by Sentence of Councell yet the abuses is Still continued, and the meeting house keept up by others not qualified and no less disaffected, Therfor the saids Lords doe requyre and ordaine the Shirreff of the Shyre of Murray and his deputs, and Magistrats of the said burgh of Elgine to Suppress and Shutt up the meeting house in the said parish and Town of Elgine, And to take Such other effectuall courses to restraine and hinder the persons who presently keep the said meeting house,2 or any other to preach or exercise any pairt of the Ministeriall function within the said parish contrary to Law, As they will be answerable upon their perrill.

Therefor the said lords do require and ordain the sheriff of the shire of Moray and his deputes, and magistrates of the said burgh of Elgin, to suppress and shut up the meeting house in the said parish and town of Elgin, and to take such other effectual courses to restrain and hinder the persons who presently keep the said meeting house, or any other to preach or exercise any part of the ministerial function within the said parish contrary to law, as they will be answerable upon their peril.

Warrand to the Lord Mark Kerr to beat Drums for levieing a redgment of foot

The Lords of her Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Grant Licence and warrand to Lord Mark Kerr Brother to the Marques of Lothian, or others haveing warrand from him to beat Drums within the Severall burghs of this Kingdome, wher they Shall have occasion to resort for levieing a redgment of foot To be Commanded by the said Lord Mark to Serve her Majestie in Flanders upon the English establishment, And allows the said Lord Mark, or these haveing his warrand to have the use of the prisons in any burgh within this kingdome for detaineing and keeping the persons so to be levied and taken on, wntill they Shall be transported to Holland, And ordains all Magistrats and others to give ther concurrance to the said Lord Mark, or these haveing his warrand to Secure the persons So to be levied, and willingly taken on, wpon ther own proper charges and expensses; And prohibits and discharges all disorders or abuses to be committed in levieing and secureing as above, but alewayes to keep themselves within the bounds the Law prescrybes.

Warrant to the Lord Mark Kerr to beat drums for levying a regiment of foot

The lords of her majesty’s privy council doe hereby grant licence and warrant to Lord Mark Kerr, brother to [William Kerr] the marquis of Lothian, or others having warrant from him, to beat drums within the several burghs of this kingdom, where they shall have occasion to resort for levying a regiment of foot to be commanded by the said Lord Mark to serve her majesty in Flanders upon the English establishment. And allow the said Lord Mark, or these having his warrant, to have the use of the prisons in any burgh within this kingdom for detaining and keeping the persons so to be levied and taken on, until they shall be transported to Holland. And ordain all magistrates and others to give their concurrence to the said Lord Mark, or those having his warrant, to secure the persons so to be levied, and willingly taken on, upon their own proper charges and expenses. And prohibit and discharge all disorders or abuses to be committed in levying and securing as above, but always to keep themselves within the bounds the law prescribes.

Whereas we think it necessary for our service that more forces be raised and transported abroad to act in conjunction with our allies, therefor we have given commission to our right trusty and beloved Lord Mark Kerr, brother german to the marquis of Lothian, to raise a regiment of foot in that our ancient kingdom, which is to be commanded by him, and paid on the English establishment.
