Warrant

Warrand for free air to the Lord Drumcairn and others

The Lords of his majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Recommend to the Earle of Leven Governour of the Castle of Edinburgh and in his absence Gives order and warrand to the next Commanding officer ther to allow […] Murray Lord Drumcairne Sir William Bruce of Kinross and Sir William Sharpe of Stoniehill presently closs prisoners in the said Castle the Libertie to goe abroad furth of their Chambers at any tyme to take the air at any place within the gates of the said Castle under the Custody of ane officer or souldier for ilk ane of the saids three persones And discharges the officers and souldiers who shall attend the saids three persons to suffer them to Converss uith or speak to one another or to any persone whatsomever But if any of their Ladys Desire to speake Converss or remaine uith their husbands alloues them to doe the same They being alwayes Detained closs prisoners uith their saids husbands and not suffered to Converss or speak uith others of the saids prisoners or uith one another except each Lady uith her oune husband with Libertie to the saids Ladys to take the air each Lady uith her oune husband in the terms as is appointed to their saids husbands

Liberatione Mr David Drummond

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby give order and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of their tolbooth To sett at Libertie furth therof Mr David Drummond advocat In respect He hath given bond and found sufficient Caution acted in the books of privie Councell That he shall Live peacably under and uith all submission to the present government of his Majestie King William and that he shall not Act Consult nor Contryve any thing in prejudice thereof nor shall not Converss or Correspond uith any rebells And that he shall appear before the Lords of his Majesties privie Councell when called for under the penaltie of Three Thousand merks In caice He shall transgress in any pairt of the premisses And upon giving this new bond appoints the old bond to be Given up

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councell Having heard a verball report made to them by Sir James Steuart his Majesties Advocat That Conforme to their Lordships reference made to him He had wryten to the magistrats of Stirling anent the grounds of their Committing to prisone John Dick Late provost ther And had receaved the Magistrats ansuer That the Grounds of his Imprisonment were sufficient but that they are now over and he may Liberat The saids Lords Doe heirby Give order and warrand to the magistrats of Stirling and Keeper of their tolbooth to sett at Libertie the said John Dick furth therof In respect he hath given bond and found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Councell That he shall Live peacably under and with all submission to the present Government of his Majestie King William And that he shall not Act Consult nor Contryve any thing in prejudice therof nor Converss or Correspond uith any rebells And that he shall appear before the saids Lords when called for under the penaltie of tuo Hundreth pounds sterling In caise he shall transgress in any pairt of the premisses And in caice ther be any old bond granted by the said John Dick upon receaving this bond alloues the former bond to be Given up

Anent the petition given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councell By William Johnstoune younger of Gratney Shewing That wher the petitioner being accidentallie upon the second day of march Last in the Company of Adam Innes of Towie and some others was with them apprehended and Committed prisoner to the tolbooth of the Cannongate wherin he still Continowes notwithstanding it is nottourly knowen that he both served the present government in Flanders and hes Lived peacably under the samen since he hes setled and Engadged in a married Life And therfore Humblie Craving to the effect underwryten as the said petitione bears The Saids Lords of his majesties privie Councell Having Considered this petitione given in to them by the above William Johnstoune They heirby Give order and warrand to the Baillies of the Canongate and Keeper of their tolbooth to sett the petitioner at Liberty In respect he hath Given bond and found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Councell That he shall Live peacably under and with all submission to the present government of his majestie King William and that he shall not Act Consult nor Contryve any thing in prejudice thereof nor shall nor Converss or Correspond uith any rebells And that he shall appear before the saids Lords when called for under the penaltie of ane Hundreth pounds sterling in caise he shall transgress in any pairt of the premisses

Charles Earle of Abboyne who is under bale to the Councell Having been charged to appear before them And being readie to have appeared if he had been Called for The Lords of his Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Recommend to the Lord Murray principall Secretary of State to signifie to his royall Majestie the caice of the said Earle That he hes been abroad at his travells in France and other places since he was of nyne years of age And that being taken in his coming home from Dunkirk He was putt under bale at Londen and is presently under bale to the Councell And that the Councell hes heard nothing of his outings against the Government or of his impeacable dispositione And to know his Majesties mynd what is to be done with the Earle and acquant the Lords of privie Councell therwith In respect the Earle In the meantyme hath given bond and found new Cautione acted in the books of privie Councell (In respect his former Cautioner is deceased) That he shall Live peacably under and with all submission to the present Government of his Majestie King William And that he shall2 Act Consult nor Contryve any thing in prejudice therof nor Converse nor Correspond with any rebells And that he shall appear before the saids Lords when called for under the penaltie of one Thousand pounds sterling Being the penaltie in his former bond And upon receaving the new bond allowes the old bond to be given up

Act appointing Commissioners for the present Levy in Lanerkshire

Forasmuch as in the proclamation emitted for the outbringing and delyverie of a thousand men for the Levy of this present year Ther are noe persons appointed or authorized for the shirreffdome of Lanerk to Judge and determine upon all differences and debates that may arrise betuixt the Commissioners of Supply for that shire and burghs within the same and the officers which shall be sent to them anent the sufficiency or Insufficency of the men to be outreicked for this present Levy in the forsaid shire Therfore the Lords of his majesties privie Councell Doe heirby authorize and Impoure the persons afternamed uithin the said shire to the effect abovementioned viz For the overwaird of the said shire Sir John Hamilton of Halcraig one of the senators of the Colledge of Justice and Andrew Hay of Craignethen and for the netherwaird therof […] Hamilton of Barncleugh and […] Hamilton of Aikenhead with pouer to the forsaids persons to doe and performe everything anent the premisses as any of the other persons mentioned in the said proclamation for the respective shires therin specified may or might have done be vertue therof
