Act appointing Commissioners for the present Levy in Lanerkshire

Forasmuch as in the proclamation emitted for the outbringing and delyverie of a thousand men for the Levy of this present year Ther are noe persons appointed or authorized for the shirreffdome of Lanerk to Judge and determine upon all differences and debates that may arrise betuixt the Commissioners of Supply for that shire and burghs within the same and the officers which shall be sent to them anent the sufficiency or Insufficency of the men to be outreicked for this present Levy in the forsaid shire Therfore the Lords of his majesties privie Councell Doe heirby authorize and Impoure the persons afternamed uithin the said shire to the effect abovementioned viz For the overwaird of the said shire Sir John Hamilton of Halcraig one of the senators of the Colledge of Justice and Andrew Hay of Craignethen and for the netherwaird therof […] Hamilton of Barncleugh and […] Hamilton of Aikenhead with pouer to the forsaids persons to doe and performe everything anent the premisses as any of the other persons mentioned in the said proclamation for the respective shires therin specified may or might have done be vertue therof
