The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill doe hereby allow Sir Alexander Hope of Carse and Hugh Blair late dean of Gild in Edinburgh To visite and speak with James Cockburne Goldsmith albeit he be closs prisoner in the Tolbooth of Edinburgh The Lord justice Clerk being present all the tyme That any of the said two persons remain’s with the said James Cockburne
