Att Edinburgh The Fourth day of September Jaj vic nyntie six years

Act Byers of Coatts

The Lords of his Majesties privie Counsell Doe heirby require the Earle of Leven Constable and Governor of the Castle of Edinburgh And in his absence Gives order and warrand to the next Commanding officer ther to detaine the persone of John Byres of Coatts open prisoner within the said Castle ay and while he find sufficient Cautione cited in the Books of privie Councell that he shall depart furth of this Kingdome Betwixt and the first day of october next and not returne therto And in the mean tyme to Live peacably as is appointed by Act of Councill of the date the thretteenth of Agust Last The officers being aluayes ansuerable for his safe Custody that he make not his escape And upon his finding Cautione as said is Ordaines him to be set at Libertie.
