Procedure

Committie anent Highland Clanns etc

The Lords of his majesties privie Councill nominats and appoynts The Earles of Argyle Southerland and Kintore The Lord Advocat and Laird of Grant to be a Comittie for considering the Chiftaines of the roll of the Landlords and Baillies of Lands in the Highlands and the roll of the Clanns that hes Captains or Chiftaines printed at the end of eleventh parliament King James sexth and the 94th act of that parliament to which these rolls doe relate And who of the said Chiftaines Landlords or Baillies it will be fitt to call before the Councill and if it will be convenent to call any persons besyde these that are named in the said Roll and to make up a Roll of the persons to be called whether in the printed Roll or added thereto and what day or dayes these persons are to be ceitted to, and To prepare the draught of a bond to be signed by the said persons when ceitted for ther obedience to the Government and keeping the publict peace And recomends to the above Committie to meet to morrow at eight in the morneing and make report of ther procedure of the whole matter to the Councill at the next meeting and declair’s any three of the forenamed persons to be a sufficient quorum.
