Act Committing Gairletoun and Elderslie

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill upon his Majesties Letter anent the Invasion designed from France have thought fitt to secure the persons of Sir George Seatoune of Gairletoune and Mr Thomas Wallace of Elderslie They heirby Give order and warrand to the Captaine of the Toune of Edinburghs Company of guards And in his absence Gives order and warrand to the next Commanding officer ther to Convey the persons of the said Sir George Seatoune and Mr Thomas Wallace to the Cannongate tolbooth And appoints the Magistrats of Edinburgh Baillies of the Cannongate and Kepper of their tolbooth to receave and Detaine them prisoners therin till farder order of Councill And appoints the saids Guards to Convey Captain James Maitland prisoner from the said tolbooth of the Cannongate to the tolbooth of Edinburgh And appoints the magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of their tolbooth to receave and detaine him prisoner therein during the Councills pleasure.
