Report anent presedencie of the generall officers of the Forces
Report of the Committie appoynted for searcheing the Registers about the presedencie of the Generall officers of his Majesties Forces read and ordered to be recorded in the books of privie Councill And Recomended to the Lord Chancellor to transmitt the principall report to the Principall Secretarie of State And appoynts a Coppie signed by the Lord Chancellor to remaine in the Clerks of Councills Hands for warrand of their recording the same. follows the Report At Edinburgh the tuenty first of February Jaj vjc 2 nynty and sex years Report of the Committie of privie Councill appoynted for searching the Registers about the presedencie of the Generall officers of his majesties Forces The Committie haveing searched the Registers for the year Jaj vjc and sexty The first mentione they find of any Generall officer at Councill is on the tuenty first of march Jaj vjc sexty and seven years when Generall Dalziell and Leut Generall Drummond are ranked in the sederunt next to the noble-men and before the president of sessione and officers of state and Continows so when in Councill till may Jaj vjc seventy and four They find the first day of september Jaj vjc seventy and four years a Commissione recorded in favors of Sir George Monro General of Horse and foot and a letter under the Kings Hand for admitting Him on the Councill and in the sederunt of the said date finds him ranked after the Lords of sessione and […] Wauchop of Nidderie and Continows so ranked till the tuenty seventh day of July Jaj vjc seventy and sex years when they find by a Letter under the Kings Hand Sir George Monro is Continowed Major Generall of the Forces and then he is ranked in the sederunt of Councill immediatly after the Lords of Sessione and before Sir John Keith Sir Andrew Ramsay and the said Wauchope of Nidderie And Continows so ranked when at Councill till the tuenty sexth day of December Jaj vjc seventy and seven from which tyme they find none of the abovenamed three generall officers marked at Councill till the Last Aprylle Jaj vjc seventy and nyne years when they find Generall Dalziell ranked after the Lords of Sessione and before Lundie Tarbat Abotshall and other Gentlemen and continow’s when at Councill so ranked from the said last of Apryll Jaj vjc seventy nyne to the second day of June Jaj vjc eighty and one years which day there is ane act of Councill past Ordering Generall Dalziell as Leutt Generall of his majesties forces to be ranked and to have vote in Councill immediately after the noblemen and before all others in tyme comeing and the said Generall Dalziell continoweth so ranked for therafter on the tuelth day of may Jaj vjc 3 eighty and two years There is a letter under the Kings hand for admitting Leutt Generall Drummond one of the Councill and the said day he is Ranked in the sederunt after all other Gentlemen and Continow’s ranked according to his admissione till march Jaj vjc eighty and fyve years when the Committie finds in a Commissione of Councill given by the Late King James Generall Dalziell is ranked immediatly after Lundie one of the principall secretaries of State and before the president of sessione And Leutt Generall Drummond, designed in the said Commissione master of the Ordinance is ranked after the Lords of Sessione and Earles sones and before all other Gentlemen Thus they Continow till the tuenty sexth day of October Jaj vjc eighty and fyve years when the Committie finds there is a Commissione to Leutt Generall Drummond to be Leutt Generall of his Majesties Forces and the said day He is ranked in the sederunt of Councill as Generall Dalziell was viz before the prisident of session and on the tenth day of December Jaj vjc nynty and fyve years They find Leutt Generall Douglass come to be master of ordinance in Leutt Generall Drummond’s place and continow’s ranked in the sederunts of Councill as ane Earles sone after the Lords of Session The abovewryten report being read in Councill The Councill recommends to the Lord Chancellor To transmitt the principall Report to the principall secretary of state and appoynts this Coppie send by the Lord Chancellor To remaine in the Hands of the Clerks of Councill as ther warrand for recordeing the principall in their books and appoynts the said principall to be recorded accordingly
