Act for open prisone to Alexander Taite
Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councell By Alexander Taite Skipper in Leith Sheuing That wher the petitioner was Imprisoned uithin the Tolbooth of Edinburgh upon the first day of March Last And hes been detained ever since closs prisoner which hes much Impaired his health and hath tended much to the prejudice of his oune privat affairs And seing he never gave any disturbance to the present government But did alwayes and is still resolved to Live peacably under the same And therfore Humblie Craving their Lordships wowld be graceously pleased to take the petitioners caise and Circumstances to their serious Consideratione and to ordaine him to be sett at Libertie upon his finding Cautione as formerly to Compear when called and in the meantyme to Live peacably under the present government as the said petition bears The saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councell Having Considered the above petitione They doe heirby give order and warrand to the Magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of their tolbooth To allow the petitioner the benefite of open prisone The saids magistrats and Keeper being alwayes ansuerable for his safe Custody
