Letter from the King for adjurning the parliament

The Letter underuryten from his Majestie to the privie Councill being read was ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor folloues
Sic subscribitur William Rex
Right trustie and right well beloved Councelor Right trustie and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councelor Right trustie and well Beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and well Beloved Councelors and Trustie and uell beloved Councellors Wee Greet yow well wheras the present state of our affairs doeth not requyre the meeting of our parliament so soon as the tuenty first day of Jully next to which it was Last adjurned we are therfore resolved to Continow the said adjurnment from the said day to the tuenty sixth day of Agust nixt And that the members therof be not putt to the trouble and charges It is our will and pleasure And we doe heirby authorize and requyre yow to Issue furth a proclamatione in our name ordering a further Continouance of the adjurnment of our Parliament from the said tuenty first of Jullie nixt to the said tuenty sixth day of Agust nixt And ordering all the members to attend that day at Edinburgh in the usuall way and upon the accustomed Certifications For doing whereof this shall be your warrand And so we bid yow heartily fareuell Given at our Camp at Corbens the 18/28 day of June 1696 and of our reigne the Eight year sic subscribitur Robert Pringle By his Majesties Command
