Approbatione of the Earle of Lauderdales imprisoning James Linlithgow

The Lords of his majesties privie Councill doe hereby approve of the Earle of Lauderdale his giveing warrand for imprisoneing James Lithgow merchant in Edinburgh in the Tolbooth therof for his misbehaveing expressions yeasterday at the muster of the militia of Edinburghshyre at Leith Links and gives ordor and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh and keeper of their tolbooth to detaine the said James Lithgow prisoner till furder ordor
