His Majesties Letter Anent The Laird of Mcintosh

A Letter from the King to the Councill Anent the Laird of Mckintosh his being dispossessed by the Laird of Keppoch read And Continoued till nixt day But in the meantyme ordered to be recorded Folloues the tenor of the said Letter
Sic suprascribitur William Rex
Right trustie and Right well Beloved Cousin And Councellor Right trustie and Entirely Beloved Cousine and Councelor Right trustie and well Beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and well Beloved Councelors Right trustie and well Beloved Councelors And trustie and well Beloved Councelors Uee Greet yow well Wheras It is represented to us by the Laird of Mcintosh that a pairt of his Estate is possessed by Keppoch and others of his freinds by Force and violence Contrary to Law Therfore wee doe Recommend it to yow to take his caise into Consideratione And if what is Represented to us in his petitione (which is heirwith transmitted to yow) Be Found true yow are heirby Required to take the most effectuall Courses For reponing him to his right and possessione And to take what security is propper from Keppoch not to disturb him therin It Being Inconsistent with the Justice of our Government That any of our subjects be deprived if the Benefite of the Law For Doing wherof This shall be your warrand And so we Bid yow heartily Farewell Given at our Court at Quakes the Fourth day of May Jaj vjc and nyntie six years And of our Reigne the Eight year.
