At Edinburgh thursday the tuenty day of February Jaj vjc nynty and sex years

Act Seatoune of Garletone

Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of his majesties privy Councill by Sir George Seaton of Garleton Shewing that where the petitioner being now this Long tyme under confynement at his house of Garletoune and within two myles about it and He having severall affairs to doe at Edinburgh both at Law and others which necessarly requyrs his owne presence as lykewayes He haveing severall affairs to doe in other places of the Countrey and that it will be ane Infinite prejudice to Him if he should not be allowed to Come to Edinburgh and goe to other places about his necessar affairs And therfore humblie Craveing in maner and to the effect aftermentioned as the said petitione bears The Lords of his majesties privie Councill Haveing considered the foresaid petitione given in to them by the said Sir George Seaton of Garleton They Hereby take of the Confynement under which the said petitioner lyes and Declairs him free therof and to be at Liberty to goe about his Lawfull affairs as any other of his majesties free Leidges In respect He hes given bond and found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of Privy Councill That He shall live peaceablie under and with all submissione to the present Government of his Majestie King William And that He shall not act consult or contryve any thing in prejudice thereof nor shall not converse or Correspond with any Rebells And that he shall appear before the said Lords of his Majesties privy Councill when called for under the paine of ane thousand pound sterline In case He shall transgress in any part of the premisses And upon giveing this new bond the Councill allow’s their Clerks to give up the old.
