Act Inhabitants of Innvernes anent accompts
The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing considered the report of a comittie of ther own number appointed for reviseing the accompts resting be his majesties forces to the Countrie Beareing that the comittie haveing considered the accompts given in to them as resting be his majesties forces to the inhabitants of the burgh of Invernes with the instructiones and verificationes therof They find that ther are Some of the articles of the said accompt resting by forces which were not upon Scotts pay which Seeing they will not be allowed out of the fond of the polemoney they make no other report anent the Same And finds the haill other articles of the said accompt Sufficiently verified and proven be the oathes and Depositiones of the saids inhabitants taken befor two of the Comissioners of Supplie within the Shyre of Invernes Conforme to the report of the Commissioners Subscribed be them written upon the said accompt compeared befor them and made faith that the Soumes in the compt is Justly resting and no pairt payed belonging to the Scotts establishment which accompt and report was produced to and considered be the said comittie And findes that ther are Some of the articles Stated upon the Scotts forces which are not in the termes of the act of parliament anent polemoney in anno Jaj vic nyntie thrie and proclamationes of privie counsell made theranent And therfore they have refuised and rejected these articles And the Comittie finds that besydes what is Stated as resting be the forces not upon Scotts pay and besyde the articles refwsed and rejected as said is ther is yet resting be his majesties forces which were upon Scotts pay to the saids inhabitants of the burgh of Invernes the Soumes following Viz By The Lord Strathnaver his regiment of foot the Soume of Ane Thowsand Thrie Score and Sixtein punds four Shilling Scotts money Item be The Laird of Grant his regiment of foot the Soume of Two Hundereth five punds tuelve Shilling eight pennies Scotts Item by The Viscount of Kenmwire his regiment of foot the Soume of Eightein punds money foirsaid Item by Collonell Ritchard Cwnnigham his regiment of foot the Soume of Thrie Score punds money foirsaid Item by the Deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of Dragownes the Soume of Ane hundereth and ten punds twelve Shilling Scotts money foirsaid Extending the haill Soumes foirsaids resting be his majesties forces upon Scotts pay to the Saids inhabitants of the burgh of Invernes to the Soume of Ane Thowsand four hundereth and thriescore ten punds eight Shilling eight pennies Scotts And the comittie findes that the haill articles wherof this Last Soume is made wp were all furnished preceeding the first day of February Jaj vic nyntie ane yeirs And that they are all in the termes of the nynth act fourth Sessione of this current parliament Entituled act for polemoney and proclamationes of Counsell relative therto And therfor it is their opinion that the said Soume of Ane Thousand four Hundereth Thriescore ten punds eight Shilling eight pennies money foirsaid is to be payed to the inhabitants of the said burgh of Invernes out of the polemoney imposed in anno Jaj vic nyntie thrie And that they are to be recomended to the comissioners of parliament appointed anent the said polemoney for payment to them of the Same accordinglie As the said report beares The saids Lords of his majesties privie Counsell Doe heirby approve of the above report and recomends to the Commissioners of parliament to cause make payment to the saids inhabitants of the above Soume of Ane Thowsand four Hundereth and thriescore ten punds eight Shilling eight pennies Scotts money And that out of the polemoney imposed in anno Jaj vic and nyntie thrie
