Warrant
Warrand Lord Justice Clerk and Sir Thomas Livingstoune to sease suspect persons
The Lords of his Majesties Privy Councill Considering that dureing the present Exigence of affaires there may be a necessity suddenly to sease upon particular persons Horses or Armes when they cannot alwayes meet in Councill for granting particular warrands for that effect Therfore the said Lords doe hereby recomend to and Authorize and gives full power and Commissione To the Lord Justice Clerk and Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in Cheiff of his majesties Forces within this Kingdome To Cause seize upon and apprehend all such papists and nonjurants who by the acts of parliament are appoynted to swear and signe the oath of alleadgeance and assureance and Have not done the same and all such persones as they judge Capable and Inclined to disturb the present Government or the peace of the Kingdome and to Committ them to prisone The first offering the oath of alleadgeance and assureance to the said persones and they refuiseing the same And to cause secure their Horses and armes untill the persones be examined before the Councill and for the more speedie discharge hereof That the said Lord Justice Clerk and Sir Thomas Livingstoune grant all warrands or ordors necessary to any magistrats or officers of his Majesties forces But prejudice alwayes to any other of the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill To cause seize such persons horses and armes for the Causes foresaid as they shall think fitt or suspect And appoynts the said Lord Justice Clerk and Sir Thomas Livingstoune and Remanent privy Councillors to acquaint the Lord high Chancellor with the persones seized by them from tyme to tyme And Declairs this warrand or Commissione to continue so long as the Councill shall think fitt
