Torwoodlie appoynted Collonell of a Regiment offered by the Inhabitants of Edinburgh etc

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill doe hereby nominat and appoynt James Pringle of Torwoodlie to be Leutt Collonell to a Regiment of foot which the Inhabitants of Edinburgh doe willingly offer for his majesties service besyds the trainbands and militia in the present exigence against the threatned invasione from France With power to the said James Pringle to muster, exercise and command the said Regiment and give all orders necessary for that effect as any Leutt Collonell of his majesties forces
