Committie for putting the Countrey in posture of Defence

The Lords of his majesties privy Councill nominates and appoynts the Earle of Lauderdale Lord Raith Thesaurer deput Lord Carmichaell Lord Polwarth Lord Justice Clerk Laird of Grant and Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in Cheiff etc to be a Committie for considering of the proposalls for puting the Countrey in a posture of defence and how the horses and armes of persones suspect may be easilie seized and how they may be easilie keeped and the horse fedd so that they may nott be in worse caice if they shall be restored to the owners then they were when seazed upon And declairs any fyve of the said Committie to be a sufficient quorum and Recomends to the Committie to meet at three of the cloak this afternoon
