Resolve of Councell Anent the association

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councell In pursuance of his Majesties pleasure signified to them by a Letter of the fourth Instant anent their associating for the defence of his persone and government and permitting the rest of his good subjects to follow their example and forme Have thought fitt to declare That all such as are uilling freely to Associat themselves for the ends forsaids may joyne uith their Lordships in the forme and draught to be first by them subscribed And that noe other forme or draught of Association may be subscribed and entered into or can be alloued uithout his Majesties express warrand And ordaines this declaration to be recorded in the books of Councell
