Act for Rouping seased horses and transmitting arms to garrisons

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby appoint and ordaine all the horses which are seased from persons refuising the oath of alleadgance and assurance to his Majestie uithin the shires or burghs or others follouing viz the shire of Jedburgh the Toune of Culross Regality of Glasgow Regality of Culross shire of Linlithgow shire of Fife Touns of Couper Air and Stirling shires of Kinross Stirling Edinburgh and steuartry of Falkland and shire of Drumfreis From whom reports are Come to the Councell Anent the seasing of such horses or arms To be rouped and publickly sold to the persons who shall offer most for the saids horses To be caryed and publictly sold to the persons who shall offer most for the saids horses2 The pryce of each horse being above ane Hundred merks at Least And appoints the shirreffs of the saids shires and the magistrats of the head burgh of each shire To Cause make publick Intimation at the mercat Croce of the head burgh therof upon the first mercat day after thir presents shall Come to their hands That the roup of the saids horses in ther shire shall be upon the nixt mercat day Imediatly after the said day of Intimation And appoints the saids magistrats of the head burgh and shirreffs to see the saids horses rouped and sold at the pryce forsaid and to take care that the pryces of the horses which shall be sold by them or at their sight as said is uithin their respective shires be transmitted Immediatly after they are sold to the Lords Commissioners of his majesties Thesaury or any other persone whom their Lordships shall appoint And in case any of the saids horses shall not be sold uithin the saids shires at the tyme and pryce above sett doune Then appoints the shirreffs and magistrats of the head burghs to transmitt these horses to the toune of Edinburgh and putt them into stables uithin the said toune And to delyver to the magistrats of Edinburgh a List of these horses and of the names of the stablers In whose stables they are putt And appoints the Magistrats of Edinburgh and the shirref of the shire of Edinburgh upon the first horse mercat day After the Lists Comes to their hands To Cause make publict Intimation that these horses are to be rouped and sold in the Grass mercat of Edinburgh upon the first horse mercat day Immediatly therafter And appoints the magistrats of Edinburgh and shirref of the said shire of Edinburgh to see the saids horses rouped and sold And to take care that the pryces of them be payed in to the saids Lords Commissioners of Thesaury or any they shall appoint In manner above set doune And appoints the shirreffs and magistrats of the shires and burghs and others forsaids who Conforme to the Act of parliament and proclamatione of Councell have seased the arms of persons not qualified To Cause3 transport the arms seased by them to any of the garrisons of Edinburgh Stirling Dumbartoun Blacknes Invernes or Dunottar which are nighest to the place wher the seased arms are Lying To be made furthcoming for the service of his Majestie and the Government whensoever the same shall be Called for
