Letter for adjourneing the parliament
The Letter afterinsert from his majestie to the privie Councill being read was ordered to be recorded whereof the tenor followeth sic suprascribitur William Rex Right trusty and right welbeloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and intirely beloved Cousin and Councilor Right trusty and welbeloved Cousins and Councillors Right trusty and welbeloved Cousins and Councillors and trusty and welbeloved Councillors we greet you well whereas the present state of our affairs does not requyre the meeting of our parliament on the tuenty day of march instant to which it was adjourned And we being desyreous to prevent the unnecessar attendance of the members thereof on the said tuenty day of march, Doe therfore authorize and requyre you to issue furth a proclamatione in our name ordering the continuance of the foresaid adjournment of our said parliament To the tuentie first day of July next ensueing the date of these presents And requyreing all the members thereof to attend that day at Edinburgh in the usuall way and upon the accustomed certifications for doeing whereof this shall be your warrant and so we bid you heartilie farewell Given at our Court at Kensingtoune the tuelth day of march 1695/6 and of our Reigne the seventh year By his majesties Command sic subscribitur James Ogilvie
