Exoneratione In favoures of the Magistrats of Edinburgh Anent tuo persons souldiers

Sir Robert Cheyslie Lord provost of Edinburgh Having acquanted the Lords of his Majesties privie Councell That […] one of the souldiers for recruits who was transported from the castle of Edinburgh to the tolbooth of Leith Is since his coming to the said tolbooth removed by death and that […] another of the saids souldiers Is become Lame and not fitt for service And therupon being Left by the officers Is sett free from prisone to begg for his Livelyhood The saids Lords Doe heirby approve of what the Magistrats of Edinburgh hes done in this matter And Doe heirby Declare them and the keeper of the tolbooth of Leith to be free of any thing which may be Laid to their charge upon account of the saids tuo souldiers any manner of way
