Act Sir William Bruce of Kinross
Anent the petition given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill By Sir William Bruce of Kinross Sheuing That wher in February Last his Majestie was graciously pleased by his Letter direct to their Lordships to take off the petitioners Confynment to his house of Kinross and tuo miles about In which Condition he Continoued untill upon the noise of ane Invasion He was againe Committed to the Castle of Edinburgh from whence he uas Liberat How soon the apprehension of the invasion ceased But their Lordships thought fitt to Confyne him to his oune house of Kinross and tuo miles about To the great prejudice of his affairs that required his presence here at Edinburgh And seing the petitioner is Engadged in the affairs of the Marques of Montrose as one of his Curators And sicklyke is Curator to Sir William Hope of Craighall his Grandchild And ther being a Generall meeting of the Marques of Montrose his Curators at Stirling in the month of Agust nixt As also a meeting of the Curators of the said Sir William Hope his Grandchild at Craighall in Fife in the month of september therafter And the petitioners presence being necessary and requisite at both the saids meetings And therfore Humblie Craving their Lordships to take off the petitioners Confynment that he may be present at the saids meetings and Goe about his affairs upon his finding of sufficient Caution to Live peacably and to appear when Called for as the said petitione Bears The saids Lords of his majesties privy Councill Having Considered this petitione given in to them by the said Sir William Bruce of Kinross They heirby take off the petitioners Confynment untill the tuenty day of Agust next to Come notuithstanding of the said sentence of Confynment They doe heirby allow the petitioner to travell straight from his oune house of Kinross to the toune of Stirling and to remaine ther at and tuo miles about the same any tyme betuixt and the said tuenty day of Agust next For attending the Lord Marques of Montrose his affairs The petitioner aluayes before extracting Giving bond and finding sufficient Cautione acted in the books of his majesties privie Councill That he shall repair straight from his oune house of Kinross to the said toune of Stirling and that he shall remaine at the said toune and tuo miles about the same untill he shall returne to his former confynment and that he shall returne to his former confynment at his oune house of Kinross and tuo miles about the same betuixt and the said tuenty of Agust nixt and that he shall observe the same and not goe without the bounds therof And that he shall Live peacably under and uith all submission to the present Government of his Majestie King William And that he shall not Act Consult nor Contrive any thing in prejudice therof nor Converss or Correspond uith any rebells and that he shall appear before the saids Lords whensoever he shall be Called or requyred therto under the penaltie of fyve Hundreth pounds sterling In caise he shall transgress in any pairt of the premisses
