Procedure
Report anent Major Wood To Hamilton and Hendrie Broune Chirurgeon
Sir Robert Cheisly Lord Provost of Edinburgh and one of the Lords of privie Councill haveing reported That he had tryed the Caices and Conditions of the persons following recomended by the Lords of his majesties privie Councill to him viz That he finds John Hamilton Stabler, is ane very aged man being more then seventie years and that he attends the publict ordinances in the Church The said Lords continues the said John Hamilton in the same Cace as formerlie and Declairs the bond granted by the said John and his Cautioners to continue and stand as formerly without any alteratione and without necessity of renewing the said bond In respect the said John was never brought before the Councill And the Lord Provost haveing reported That Major James Wood as major only of the militia is a persone not qualified according to Law but hear’s not of any acting he hes had against the Government or the publict peace and that Hugh Broune Chirurgeon is in the same Caise but popish and that his daughter is new dead and burried The Councill continows the said Major Wood and Hugh Broune and their Cautioners in the same Caice as formerlie without any alteratione or necessity of renewing their bonds untill it be determined what is to be done with the bodie of such persons in the Kingdome
