Anent the petition given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill By Patrick Hepburn apothecary in Edinburgh Sheuing That wheras It hath pleased the Lord to afflict the petitioner by ane Great Defluction upon his eyes and otheruise with bodily sickness wherby he is rendered Incapable to Goe about his Laufull affairs And in this his great distress The Society and Conversation of Mr John Hepburn Minister of the Gospell the petitioners Brother would be verie usefull and Comfortable to him And the said Mr John Hepburn being at present Imprisoned in the Castle of Stirling by their Lordships Command If their Lordships Shall be pleased to allow him to Come in to Edinburgh The petitioner does humbly offer to obleadge himself as Cautioner for him That he shall remaine Confyned in Edinburgh during their Lordships pleasure and shall retuen to his Imprisonment or ansuer before their Lordships when required or Called to that effect And therfore humblie Craving to the effect underwryten as the said petition Bears The saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councill having Considered this petition given in to them by the said Patrick Hepburne They heirby Give order and warrand to the Deputie Governour of the Castle of Stirling And in his absence to the next Commanding officer ther to sett the said Mr John Hepburn at Libertie furth of the said Castle to repair to Edinburgh In respect the petitioner hath given bond cited in the books of his Majesties privie Councill That the said Mr John Hepburn shall remain within the toune of Edinburgh And that he shall returne to the said Castle or appear and ansuer before the Lords of privie Councill whensoever he shall be required or Called theirto And that under the penaltie of Tuo Thousand merks Scotts In caise the said Mr John Hepburne shall transgress any pairt of the premisses.
