Act Anent accompts resting to Mcintosh of Borlum and his tenents
The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing considered the report of a comittie of ther own number appointed for reviseing of the accompts resting by his majesties forces to the countrie Bearing That the comittie haveing considered the accompts given in to them as resting be his majesties forces efternamed to William Mcintosh of Borlum and John Mcintosh of Loynbilg his brother and ther tenents in the Lands of Reatts and Loynbilg in the Shyre of Invernes and Lordshipe of Badenoch for cornes Straw meat and other provisiones advanced and furnished to the saids forces with the instructiones and verificationes the saids accompts They find it sufficiently verified and proven by the oathes and depositiones of the said William Mcintosh of Borlum and his saids tenents in the saids Lands of Reatts and Loynbilg taken before the Comissioners of Supply within the Shyre of Invernes that ther was furnished to the forces following Viz The Laird of Grant with Five Hundered foot of his men Leivetennent Collonell Lwmsden with Thrie Hundereth of Strathnavers regiment of foot Major Monro with Two hundereth of Kenmwires regiment Thrie Hundered foot out of Collonell Lawders regiment Major Generall Mckay his regiment and Ramsayes regiment comanded by Captaine Corbett Captain Graham and Cardross his regiment of Dragownes comanded by Leivetennent Collonell Jacksone The maister of Forbes his troupe Edinglassies troupe Elphingstownes troupe And Bellhavens troupe in forradge meat and other necessar provisiones haveing qwartered and lyen Locallie upon The Saids Lands the twentie eight twentie nynth and threttie dayes of September And first and third Dayes of October Jaj vic and nyntie yeirs The Soume of four Thousand Thrie hundereth and Eleven punds contained in ane particular accompt produced to the Comissioners which accompt and report both now Subscribed by thrie of the saids Comissioners (the accompt when it was first produced wanted Subscriptiones but by order of the comittie was given up to the pairtie and returned Subscribed) were produced to And considered be the comittie And the comittie finds that the totall Soume forsaid of the said accompt and which is also insert in the said report does exceed the prices allowed by the privie Councell to have bein furnished to the forces for the Space above Settdowne And findes that ther are two baggadae2 horses insert in the accompt And therfore the Comittie have rejected the baggadge horses and have restricted the accompt to the prices or rates allowed by the privie Counsell reckning the foot at four Shilling per diem And the horse and man togither at ten Shilling per diem reckning no more for the officers then for the Souldiers And finds that efter rejecting the baggadge horses and efter restricting the accompt to the Councells rates and recknings as said is ther will be resting by his majesties forces foirsaids which were upon Scotts pay to the Said William Mcintosh of Borlum and his tenents in the Saids Lands of Raits and Loynvilg the Soume of Two thousand Six hundred and fiftie punds Scotts money And it is the opinion of the comittie that this Soume being due by forces upon Scotts pay is to be allowed out of the polemoney And that the said William Mcintosh of Borlim and his saids tenents are to be recomended to The Lords comissioners of his majesties thesaurie for payment of the Same accordingly Item be his majesties forces forsaids which were not upon Scotts pay the Soume of Ane thousand and five hundereth punds Scotts money forsaid And the comittie are of opinion that this is to be transmitted to his majestie in the termes of the proclamations of Councill That he may give Such orders theranent as in his royall wisdome he Shall think fitt The Lords of his majesties privie Councell heirby approve of the above report And recomends the Comissioners of parliament appointed anent the pole money imposed in anno Jaj vic nyntie thrie to causem ake payment to the above William Mcintosh of Borlim and his tenents of the Said Soume of Two Thousand Six hundereth and fiftie punds Scotts resting be his majesties forces upon Scotts pay out of the Said polemoney imposed in anno Jaj vic and nyntie thrie And appoints the Said Soume of Ane Thousand five hundereth punds Scotts furnished to the forces which were not upon Scotts pay to be transmitted his majestie in the termes of the proclamationes of Counsell that his majestie may give Such orders theranent as in his royall wisdome Shall think fitt.
